Mr White was losing patience. Until now he had never been aware that he had any, because if anything he had been all patience. But now he could feel it evaporating. It was a strange, hot sensation in his head. And how could a thought be hot?

The mass of incarnated Auditors watched him nervously.

"I am Mr White!" he said, to the luckless new Auditor that had been brought before him, and shuddered with the astonishment of using that singular word and surviving. "You cannot be Mr White also. It would be a matter of confusion."

But we are running out of colours! In which Mr. White becomes a little loosely wound. )

Mr White looked around at the nearest Auditors, who all stepped back.

"Is there anyone else who wishes to try the experiment?" he said.

There was a chorus of hasty refusals.

"Good," said Mr White. "Already we are learning a great deal!"

[[ and as of now, the auditors are human enough to touch. text lovingly stolen and adapted from Terry Pratchett. ]]

Angelica couldn't sleep. She'd been worried about the horses at the Gig since the force field had failed Thursday morning, coming perilously close to the stables. She couldn't just sit safe in the dorms while the horses were in danger, so she gave up trying to sleep and flew down to the Gig early Friday morning to see if she could herd the horses to the stables at the dorms where they'd be safer (she hoped). She'd leave a note for Dani if she wasn't there, but she was fairly confident she'd understand and agree with her reasoning.

She'd gotten Smudge, Bold, and Kally into their harnesses and out into the corral and was heading back into the stables to get Duke when the force field skirting the edge of the Gig flickered briefly and failed. Half the stables vanished, along with Angelica, Duke, and Clyde.

Now firmly under the control of Mr. White, the Auditors were becoming a little... more coordinated. They had found some of their powers failing that morning, which was terrifying, but then Mr. White had given them that look and they had given in to their bodies' apprehensiveness and scurried off.

Now...

"We must learn more," Mr. White crowed loudly. "Most of the humans are in there." He pointed at the school. "That is a fact."

The hundreds of Auditors gathered in front of him nodded meekly.

"So we must study it from the inside," he continued, "This is also a fact."

Another unanimous nodding session.

"Those inhabiting the town are also of interest," he added, "Which is also a fact."

More nodding.

"They have proven hostile so far. Also a fact. That means we can only conclude one thing."

He held up the axe. A good chunk of the Auditors held up their own weapons, mostly because they didn't want to be singled out for another experiment.

"CHARGE!" Mr. White yelled.

The throat protested. Interesting.

Seven hundred Auditors charged through the streets of Fandom.

[[ ocd up! Have at! Note that after this, all of Fandom besides the school and dorms is gone, so be sure to read the OCD. Also, if you need an excuse to get your character out of the affected areas, the Auditors are everywhere and they're going to be very hard to miss. ]]

Yes, Francine Peters stole a golf cart.

Yes, even though there was nobody left in J,GoB, she felt guilty about it.

Yes, she was Francine Peters and thus was fully under the impression that Professor Skywalker would probably send her to jail for it eventually, but there was a war on and THE PEOPLE NEEDED CHOCOLATE.

Which is why there was a golf cart full of chocolate-frosted chocolate chocolate fudge double chunk ripple chocolate cupcakes, doughnuts and yes, people with long memories for stupidity, brownies (sans oregano), located at the corner of Mallard and Chimera, for any of Fandom's brave fighters who need more artillery. Or had the munchies.

Yes, Natalie, there was definitely also coffee.
