Today was not a fruit day at Stark Industries.

Today was a "all the computer screens have decided to play something odd sort of day.

After a few futile attempts to close the page and go somewhere else, William gave up and just let the videos play through. With so many of his usual online haunts offline today, it wasn't like there was a lot to be done anyway.

It was the briefest flash of light, as something came from the rarely used Portal through space, a small, round something in the shape of a sphere. It hurtled like a small meteor toward the island of Fandom, a small bubble of protection preparing it for impact. The ball landed somewhere in the Rocky Bits, rolled around the unfamiliar terrain for a moment, and then stopped. The ball started to open, and Samus Aran, stretched out to her full height, took a moment to look around, scan the are with her visor, and figure out her course. Destination set, she morphed up into her little sphere again and started rolling toward the town, down the streets of the village until she reached the door of Turtle & Canary.

Not unfamiliar with strange technology, the doors slid open easily to allow the Morph Ball through. Samus didn't remain in that state for long, though. As soon as she cleared the door, she morphed back to natural form, crouched with her cannon gun ready to fire at the first sign of danger, as she scoped out the place. The shelves, the aisles, the stacks of cans in elaborate display, and the daily essentials of life at competitive prices. Her visor scanned for signs of life and machinery: two machines with limited AI, two organic creatures by the counter, two in the aisles, one approaching. She honed in on the approaching figure, identifying it as human...and harmless. Samus lowered her cannon arm, and Apu turned the corner to greet her.

His eyes went wide at the appearance of a tall, armored, and armed person in the store, but he didn't flinch when Samus produced a document, holding it out for him to read. Apu blinked a few times, then leaned in to look over the words. His expression slowly took the journey from surprised and a little concerned to one of relief and even joy. He let out a loud laugh. He had not received such wonderful news in ages! Here he had thought that Shunsui had just been in a drunken stupor these last few weeks as usual, but what was held in front of him was a deed declaring this strange visitor the new owner, and he could already tell that the business ethics of this newcomer was higher than the last.

An ant had more business ethics than the last.

"Welcome!" he said happily. "Welcome, Mr. Aran! We are so happy to have you here. Let me show you around the place and get you acquainted. But please, watch yourself in the cheese aisle, the panda has been very sick."

Since the man seemed harmless enough and Samus was eager to get a better scope of this strange new base, she let herself be lead further into the depths of the aisles, her gaze lingering a little longer on the big bulky machine with the eyes that seemed to follow her as she moved, sporting an intriguing sign:

Quinn had spent her weekend hanging out with a bunch of teachers and townies in a warehouse. There'd been drinking, crying, and sitting in the hot-tub -- and if she remembered right, at least one moment had involved all three.

At this point, she was just going to be grateful she hadn't slept with anybody and carry on like nothing had ever happened. She had online Spanish homework to do; that seemed nice and normal.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials: Cobb Salad
Peppermint Dream Pie

[OOC: Hotel is open and OCD-free.]

Lion-o considered himself pretty savvy when it came to food, but there were still some things that confused him, like goat cheese. "Are you guys sure that the goat cheese isn't made of goats?" he kept asking the kitchen staff.

Today's Special
Poached Chicken Breast Stuffed with Goat Cheese and Spinach
Peanut Butter Banana Cream Pie

It might have been colder than a witch's tit outside but that wasn't gonna stop Nathan from eating an ice cream cone behind the bar tonight. Look, he'd nicked it from a shop on the mainland (it'd been the easiest thing to grab and he'd been fucking hungry) and he wasn't gonna let it go to waste. Sure, it wasn't his favorite but what the hell, it'd been free.

Tino was giving him a look that Nathan had dubbed the 'I'm Tino and I suck' look. In reality, Tino was just probably nauseous because Nathan was sprinkling rum onto the ice cream every so often. It was a delicacy okay!
