Quinn had told one of the maintenance workers that she'd auditioned for Petey Sci-Fi but they were still looking for guys, and now she kind of wished she hadn't. There was just something wrong about watching a guy with the worst case of plumber's crack in the world practice his version of "I Can Make You a Man."

The hotel was open, and Quinn was desperately wishing brain bleach was an actual thing.

The Devil's Nest [Wednesday morning and afternoon]

Joan hadn't quite made it into the office Monday morning -- highly unlike her, but so had been the cold that she'd finally managed to stave off by yesterday afternoon. And as she always did when she missed a day at work, Joan felt that the place had fallen apart in her absence.

Today, she'd hauled Eric's tax files out of the basement, going over the employee forms as well as receipts. She couldn't do his taxes for him, but she also knew no accountant was going to touch half this stuff until it was better organized.

Of course, they'd probably need someone from his world to do it, anyway, or else there were going to be Questions about some of these purchases.

Cafe Luke's, Wednesday

There was the distinct aroma of blueberry muffins wafting through the cafe. But don't try to order one, because Lion-o and the staff couldn't figure out at first where the scent was coming from. That wouldn't stop Lion-o from trying to sniff it out. Maybe if he's lucky, he'll discover by the end of the day that the scent is actually the new lotion he tried this morning.

It was an easy day for Shira -- class, then work. And it was an easy work day for her, too -- only a couple small shipments to unpack and then she was free to settle down behind the counter with a book.

She wasn't exactly reading, though, more like browsing the book idly as she waited for customers. It was also a slow day for Shira.

Caritas | Wednesday

There wasn't much going on at Caritas tonight. Nathan hadn't been in a mood to torment Tino so he'd just taken up a spot behind the bar and started to drink. Tino was making bets with himself about how long Nathan's silence and politeness by default would last.

Tino had one hour down at the very latest. He didn't think Nathan would last near that long. Only time would tell!
