Not a single goat had managed to wrench its way through Wellspring's doors - of course they hadn't. Cable had set up his security system for a very good reason.

It meant less goat tears to clean up in the morning.

Instead, he took Jan down into the shop with him, making her run through the weapons on display again. She'd need tactical insight when she was older; this was as good a time as any to start.

"And goats--"

"Get punched," Jan said triumphantly.

The good news was, all the reports and paperwork that had been lost to goats yesterday seemed to be back today. Things were slightly out of order, but Audrey could spend some time making files make sense again, no problem.

But when the slightly slobbered-on squirrel came into the station, jumped onto her desk and started making squirrel noises at her for a while, she figured her day got just a little weirder when she had to say, "I have no idea what you're trying to say."

A minute later, a badly-spelled "I WANT TO FILE A POLICE REPORT" was written on a piece of paper in really bad handwriting, and how was this her life.

It was Friday, so Ben was behind the counter as usual.

Instead of checking his comlink for news from home, he was reading up on more modern, Earth-based terminology.

Like what Ender might have meant when he called Ben his partner at the shop on Monday.

"Ohhhhh," Ben said softly, a huge, dorky smile crossing his face.

The good mood was going to last today.

There were no goats lurking about the shop today. Nothing waiting in one of the rows of books, ready to shamble out and leak copiously in Loki's general direction. The crying had been... Disturbing to say the least.

But, they had left behind some pellet-y reminders of their presence. Ew.

So, that would be Loki, feared and reviled throughout the nine realms, sweeping up goat shit. How the mighty had fallen.

Goodvalor's Little Bivoli, Friday

Apparently amongst all the goat-related shenanigans, nobody at Goodvalors had taken note of the dozen or so crates of apples that had been dropped off yesterday.

So now there was an excess of apples. And when one had apples, one... made apple pie. Sure, it was probably infringing on JGoB's thing just a bit, but it wasn't as if the apples would be a regular feature. Hopefully. Assuming they could be used up reasonably quickly.

Tiny had taken the weekend off, had spent three hours in traffic and gotten exactly nowhere, and was now back behind the bar with sunscreen on his nose, a terrifying Hawaiian shirt covering his chest, and a pair of flipflops that had seen better days.

The DJ was playing Jimmy Buffet, and between breaks was trying to chat to Tiny about the furniture sales he was going to hit for Memorial Day Weekend.

Eric was just...going to be over here.
