Well, the rehearsals had been short, but Jono hadn't been too concerned by that, seeing as reality had been swallowed up the last time they did a showcase here, and people had gone onstage and had performed excellent pieces in spite of the trauma. What he had been concerned about was his own capacity to get everything done, but the programs were printed and there were light refreshments thanks to Raven, and the stage had been decorated to portray key areas of the island, displaying varying degrees of Fandom's weirdness.

Why yes, there were giant foam tentacles coming out of a duck pond that was surrounded by lawn flamingos over on that side of the stage. Why? Was that strange?

Well, Coulson had seen an interesting few days. But now he was back at work and checking out the weapons again. This time it wasn't for random possibilities. This time it was for a wishlist. If he had to be whisked away suddenly and only had a chance to grab one weapon, which one would it be?

Somebody was going to be setting aside a portion of each paycheck until he could narrow his favorite down and either there was an emergency or he banked enough trust with Cable so that he could actually buy it.

That day would pretty much be Christmas for Coulson.

Yesterday had been busy-- getting everything settled in, finding the picnic, reporting back to Alliance HQ about his progress, getting his protein and his sleep in. This morning had started off roughly the same way-- reports, food, then exercise. Kaidan needed to get the lay of the land anyway, so he went for a run.

The problem was... that that was it. Wouldn't be teaching his class for another few days. Didn't have anything new to report back home. Downtime. Quiet time.

Maybe time to start doing that thinking he'd promised himself he'd be doing out here.

The beach was quaint. Nothing like what he was used to back home. He supposed the tall rocks recalled Virmire just a little bit, but not... really. It was quiet, though. The view wasn't too bad. So... that's where he sat down, picked a rock, rolled up the sleeves of his Alliance casuals so he wouldn't be sweating quite as much.

He took a breath, then let it go. "Okay," he said. Two... three weeks now, since Shepard died. Two months since Ash did, on Virmire. He had to start letting it percolate, except whenever he did, there was pain, right under his bones, and he couldn't even... begin to think where to start.

Quiet time. Maybe should've begged Alliance brass for a combat posting after all.

Since he'd been out of the teaching game for a couple months and made sure everything was working properly in the restaurant, Zayne was taking some time to work on his lesson plan for the next day's class.

It seemed the droids felt particularly inspired by this, though.

Susan had missed last week's shift due to being in Pylea, and this week she walked in to... nothing pleasant. Apparently the air conditioning hadn't been on until shortly before she arrived, so it was on, and it would cool down, just... not yet.

For once she dared to bring water to her station by the door, because today was just going to be unpleasant.

The Devil's Nest was open... and getting progressively less gross.
