So, one of the sprinklers in the store ceiling was malfunctioning again, though thankfully it was sending out a cool mist of water instead of ketchup this time.

Victor lugged all the electronic stuff within range of the weak spray out of the way, then considered the problem. He'd have to fix it before he took the break for his classes, but right now the temptation to treat it like his own personal miniature indoor water park was larger.

He'd be working shirtless today, and occasionally taking a break under the sprinkler to cool down even more. It was bad for machinery to overheat, right?

[OOC: Open repair shop, no OCD. And I'd like to thank Teen Wolf for its many contributions to the cause of Shirtless Tyler Posey.]

Today Frank was on a mission. A mission to find the cheapest fruit punch and cake mix in the whole store in preparation for his and Britta's party. It was going to be awesome and exciting and Frank had been put in charge of finding food and plates and such, so he was determined not to let her down.

Of course, if Frank had had a basic comprehension of Google or of modern high school party traditions -- of which he had neither -- he might have been aware that he was barking up the wrong tree with the fruit punch and such. But no.

Oops.

Emma had claimed a lounge full of couches and chairs to hold her class, and the custodial staff had been nice enough to place a desk at the front of the room for her.

She was leaning against the desk, immaculately dressed in a while linen suit with her hair twisted up off her neck, waiting for her students to trail in. Once it felt like everyone who was going to show up had arrived, her gaze swept over the assembled group impassively.

"I am Miss Emma Frost," she began, her tone crisp and clear. "This is Psionics for the Headblind Herd, although those of you with abilities in the subject matter are welcome as well. I am a high-level telepath capable of using my abilities in a wide variety of ways, and I refuse to shield just because you cannot keep a civil thought in your heads. Yes, I can hear you. No, I do not care. No, I do not go digging about, because I do not care. Most humans are hideously boring creatures and I have no reason to waste my time on your petty insecurities."

Emma was just going to get that out there right now, thank you, before the Dana Scullys of the world started assuming things about telepaths.

"You are here because you - yes, you, and you too - want to keep people like me out of your heads," Emma continued. "Which, I feel obligated to inform you, will not happen. For all the defenses I could teach you, with whatever other tricks you've learned, you will, eventually, fall to a superior psion. You're only human, after all."

"We will cover the basics; such as the astral plane, telepathy, telekinesis, psychometry, clairvoyance and precognition, empaths, and astral projection. And while I already know who you are and why you're here, your classmates do not. So introduce yourselves, and tell them why you're interested in the topic or something you want to know or some such."

Emma's smile was bright and sharp. "And remember, Auntie Emma knows if you're lying."

She was getting an internship credit and an ed-class credit for teaching this? Best. Summer. Ever.

[OOC: Up early for playing justice.]

Things seemed perfectly normal in the hotel lobby, except for one small thing. The fruit bowl on the front desk had nothing but bananas. In fact, it was overflowing and there were bananas spilling over onto the desk. Mary didn't want to know where they came from or why there were so many of them. For now, she was going to avoid looking at the fruit bowl.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel

Emma may have her first class as a teacher tonight, but she wasn't going to skip her shift at Dite's!

The store was open, and Emma was flipping through a fashion magazine behind the counter. Sometimes a person just needed a little light reading on a hot day.

Sam and Natalie the snake were manning the store today. Sam was sitting behind the counter, putting some new trucks on some new boards they'd gotten in and Natalie was slithering along the counter, being her usual mild self. It was strange that she could even be mild in snake form.

Occasionally, Sam would talk to her but she merely hissed in answer so the store was mostly quiet.

When she'd bartended in Chicago, no one had really gone to that particular bar looking for creative drinks. So now that she was here, Kitty decided that maybe it was time to get creative.

Or she was bored and was looking for an excuse to practice with layered drinks. She'd told Tino he could help her figure out one to use as a special tomorrow for the holiday, but mostly he kept drinking what she made. Sigh.
