Honestly, Jessica was glad to be back in the shop after a week of vacation. In between customers, she was working on some kind of tracking signal that could be picked up by her spider-sense. It wasn't perfect or anything, but if she could find the right frequency, she would be able to track this signal without using a mechanical receiver of any sort.

Of course, this basically meant she was giving herself a headache. So that was terrible.

[OOC: I no longer get an unprotected wifi signal at work, so absolutely no play from me until I'm home.]

Stiles was back at the Perk with his laptop and notebook, trying to make more of a dent into his little kanima problem. He was becoming quite close with the barista. She at least knew him well enough to provide a handful of plastic coffee stirrers to help appease his oral fixation. It was either that or he'd chew the edge of the lid on his cup to hell and back and render it undrinkable.

There was a nice little collection of already chewed up stirrers piling up on a napkin beside him and he had one in his mouth as he used every Google trick he knew to research what the eff a kanima was. He might have to go out and open a book soon, the horror.

[Expecting a few but the post is open to everyone, of course]

Max had barely stepped foot on the island before he groaned loudly. "Aw, man, there are stairs everywhere," he complained. Penny had not mentioned that there would be stairs in this supposed island paradise full of attractive men and cheaper rent than Chicago. This wasn't the first time Penny's research skills had failed him, either. Max still shuddered to recall the disaster of a blind date she'd set him up on last year. The guy had been a redhead and he'd carried around his bird with him on dates. The whole two and a half dates they'd gone on, Max hadn't had the heart to tell him that his bird looked like it was on its last feather.

Anyway, it looked like Penny had failed once again, because no matter how attractive the guys around here might be, it was not worth climbing that amount of stairs to get to the hotel.

Wait, was that a pastry shop only halfway up the first flight of stairs?

Okay, maybe he could manage it if he took this in shifts, with breaks. And if they had cherry danishes. Max loved a good cherry danish.

[[open, of course!]]

"Well?" Priestly asked the cook. "What do you think?"

"I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be that color."

"Yeah, okay, besides that."

"It's lopsided," the dishwasher offered. "It looks like it's about to collapse on itself."

"Okay, besides that."

"Is it supposed to be burned on top?" asked the busboy.

"You guys are killing me here."

"Sorry," the cook said, not looking particularly sorry at all. "You're just never going to be a Pinterest star."

Today's specials:
Roasted pumpkin and pear soup
Cheeseburger eggrolls
S'moreos
Now hiring! Most shifts available!

Luke's was open.

The DJ was playing a respectable mix of songs today, none of which were wolf themed. Derek was, needless to say, both confused and wary about this.

There just had to be a catch somewhere in it. Just had to be.

Which would be why he was shooting the DJ looks from behind the bar. Paranoid werewolf was paranoid.
