Sparkle wasn't usually up this early in the day, no. Especially not on a Friday, when he had no classes and no work and didn't have to be out the door for clubs until late afternoon. But Velcro was being a jerk that morning, curling up to lovingly sleep on his face, and Sparkle wasn't the greatest at getting back to sleep once he'd been woken up. So. That was that.

He had mostly just headed to the Perk because if he was going to be awake, he was going to need coffee. But he was coming to that realization that coffee wasn't just coffee any more, and the seasonal selection of lattes was kind of making his eyes cross. Egg nog? Peppermint? Gingerbread?

"Do they just serve baked goods in a cup, or what?"

[Open, with some sp-for-work heads-up! Sparks hasn't been out much this week, oops.]

So. There was a gremlin chilling in the corner of the store, picking at a piece of paper that had fallen there. That did not seem like a normal or desirable situation to Alec.

Even he had limits of what he was willing to do in the name of duty, and taking that piece of paper aware from the gremlin was far beyond those limits. So he'd just be as far away as possible. Cleaning. And keeping an eye on that corner in case the gremlin wanted a playmate.

He'd heard things, okay?

Jack had never made time to get any good at video games since he jumped forward in time. They seemed loud, and childish, and he didn't see the point of them -- and anyhow, being publicly bad at common things was embarrassing. Easier to avoid the subject entirely.

But at 13, he loved loud, childish, pointless things, and didn't especially care if people he'd never met before thought he was good at them or not. Which was why after he devoured some pizza for lunch, he spent some serious time trying to conquer the ancient meta Mortal Kombat game in the corner of the restaurant. Someday he'd make it past the first two opponents; for now, he was having fun trying.

[OOC: Open like a restaurant!]

After talking with a younger version of Jack the other day, Allie had managed to track down another book of stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It was interesting reading especially if what Jack had said was true, and the main character was inspired by a vampire.

The DJ was playing some surprisingly decent classic rock while Tiny worked on his Christmas wish list. Allie perched herself on a stool at the bar where she could keep an eye on the door and settled in to read until she was needed.

Kenzi had been slacking a bit lately, but she'd decided paychecks were good, so she was in relatively on time, setting up a pyramid of Holiday Happiness.

Although she might have been edging the Sixty Shades of Silver sets so they fell off the back of the display.

[No OCD for thee! And links NSFW, as you'd expect.]

There was just the one bartender present at Caritas tonight. Mike suspected this meant Tino was somewhere dealing with teenage angst. He was more than cool with being on his own, though. He could use a Friday night without inexplicable glaring, and he'd gotten used to the zombie band enough to be comfortable being alone with them. In fact, he was comfortable enough to start making song requests to pass the time. Yes, this meant he ended up dancing to Electric Avenue behind the bar. Yes, for some reason he kept to old songs, because he had no idea how long the zombie band had been undead.

And no, not that kind of dancing. Just... grooving.

Boy had some moves, though.
