So, Sparkle was hard at work today.

... Get your mind out of the gutter.

They'd gotten in a new shipment of toys, which he was lugging around and putting on display, was all. And his displays looked pretty damn sweet. Say what you want about the way he dressed, Sparkle did have an eye for the aesthetically pleasing. That accomplished, he sat down and flipped through one of the textbooks that Karina had brought for him the other week. About twenty minutes in, he called her to thank her, in his own special way, before replying to a few weird voicemails he'd gotten.

All in all, a totally productive day. Those were few and far between, but with as lazy as he'd been feeling yesterday, he was just itching to not sit still for too long without actually accomplishing something.

But seriously, when would he ever have to calculate the length of the side of a triangle where he couldn't just, like, measure it or something instead?

[ooc: Open and flying without OCD today!]

Alec normally did his best to work at work, but today, certain phone calls were making it difficult to concentrate. Not to mention a few phone calls he felt compelled to place on his own. The result was a lot of confusion.

As soon as he turned his attention back to inventory and organization, the business phone rang, and someone on the other end of the line wanted to know if they sold reptilian condoms.

Alec gave them the number for Dite's. And then wondered how he could go about bleaching his brain.

Fortunately, Sam had only left one voicemail message so far, inquiring about the weekly radio position she and Commander Alenko had apparently been assigned. Unfortunately, it hadn't reached its desination.

And then there was a message that she received with someone's idea of a shopping list. That one was pretty bizarre.

The good news was, for whatever reason, the office wasn't getting any complaint calls today. Not even one. It was actually a little frightening.

Allie was in her usual spot near the bar staring warily at her phone. Another message might send her off the deep end entirely. Her mood certainly wasn't helped by the way Tiny kept texting and snickering behind the bar.

[Around but bouts of SP due to RL.]

If they were back on the island for the summer, it didn't seem right that one of them wasn't working at Stark's during at least part of it, so Ben had picked up his old Friday shift.

Today Ben was reacquainting himself with the inventory between answering the occasionally odd phone message or text. Yes, Ben had been through weird phone days before, but was entertained by them each time.

The shop was open!

There was a strange creaking sound in the diner today, reverberating through the ceiling.

"Do you hear that?" Priestly asked the cook.

"You mean the sound of your yapping?" the cook responded with a smirk.

"You're very unhelpful," Priestly told him. He went outside, wondering if this was some sort of extra Fandom attack, but the sky looked clear, and as far as he could tell, nothing was randomly flying and spitting fire.

The creaking was louder out here, though. It seemed to be coming from right above him, in fact.

Priestly looked up. His eyes went wide. He leaped out of the way just in time to miss getting brained by the falling "Cafe" part of the "Cafe Luke's" sign. The supports, it seemed, had been melted almost right through, probably by some angry jalapenos.

"Right," Priestly said. "Just 'Luke's' it is."

There was something going on with the phones today, as Mike had figured out without making too many calls. Clearly that – as well as other types of fandom weirdness – needed to be celebrated on the specials board.

TONIGHT'S SPECIAL
Booty Call

Had anyone really expected anything cleaner than that? Besides, it was about the only thematic recipe he'd managed to find! Not that he'd put a whole lot of his energy into it, but still. Sex sold, anyway.
