Nikolai was pretty sure today was going to be another one of those, 'not going to ask' days. He decided that pretty much the moment he made his way down to the lobby to find the computer browser open to a page about aphrodisiac foods. And, while Gunther denied vehemently that he had anything to do with the page in question, the simple fact remained that tonight was the night of the three minute dates at Caritas, and the specials today all seemed to contain certain ingredients...

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials:

Venison Loin With Chocolate Infused Sauce
Asparagus and Basil Pesto
Honey Roasted Fig and Almond Tart

... And if Nick was on his third slice of the tart before his shift was through, that was entirely because it was delicious, and not at all because he was planning on giving speed dating a try tonight, himself.

The boat kid from last week came up to pick up his boats today, which Topher was happy enough to hand over. "They have lasers and little tiny explosions now," he explained, pointing to the relevant buttons. "Good luck, bro."

The kid paid him quite a bit extra.

Book Haven bustled with activity, for the first time in… well, Rosalind was not quite sure how long, but long enough that she was glad she'd hired people to come in and clean rather than do it herself.

Besides, Rosalind had inventory to do, to see what she had to work with currently and what needed to be ordered soonest, and also to just get acquainted with everything in her shop.

That thought had her reaching for her PHS to try calling home once more, which got her nothing but Portalocity's tinned message about it being out of reach—again. Ugh.

When she wasn't doing inventory, Rosalind was inspecting the till to make sure it was fine (it was), triple-checking the window seats and side table, which were there for those who wanted to spend some time reading inside the shop, for gremlins or any other Fandom creepy crawlies that might hide near furniture, and now and then trying to decide what sort of furniture she needed for the apartment above the shop.

The shop was most definitely open and there was a sign outside that said:

Now hiring! Apply inside!

All in all, it was a busy day, but Rosalind thrived on being busy, was good at it, and it (mostly) kept her from thinking about all the things she didn't want to think about, so Rosalind figured the day was turning out rather decently, which was rather high praise from her.

After the dates, Bruce noticed that Doom and... the other Doom made their way out through the back door. Strange, but not suspicious enough to require a second look at this point.

Instead, Bruce made his way over to the bar and had Tino get him another drink. Bruce also pre-tipped him for the amount of drinks he was likely to be making for everyone tonight. And that was why Tino always pretended to give Bruce a lot of alcohol. It was hard to say no to tippers as good as him.

[OOC: This is your regular bar post for the night. Yep, it's for Tino-modding!]

"Seriously, Tiny? They're salt and pepper shakers. And they're elves. I bought them because they reminded me of my grandma's house."

Tiny just pointed and shook his head again, then headed out to stand at the door. Outside the door, because he refused to come back in until Bo got rid of them.

It was gonna be a long night.

Hopefully not a rainy one, for Tiny's sake, since those elves were staying right there on the bar until closing time when Bo could take them home.
