April had hired an intern at Furnado, and today she was exploiting his unpaid hard work in order to get all her stuff packed up for her big move to Bloomington, Indiana.

Sitting at her desk at the shelter, she cradled her phone to her ear while typing up a job posting on Craigslist. "How many drawers are left?" she asked.

"Just one, but I wanted to ask if I can quickly run and get some lunch--"

"No, Kyle, you cannot go get lunch," April said sharply. "I need you packing up my crap while I'm here doing my job. Some of us have paid positions, you know. Now do that last drawer and then re-pack my box of shoes. Boots go on the bottom this time. God, it's like you don't have any experience with women's footwear."

Indignant, Kyle began, "I don't," but April just swiped the 'end call' button and hung up.

Jessica had to make a quick trip to New York after work today. The great thing about feeling like you could do anything because you successfully took care of the most important thing in the world to you was that it made things like inconvenient interdimensional travel seem like a breeze!

Of course, compared to what she was going to do, interdimensional travel actually was easy. During any free time she had today, Jessica could be seen jotting things down on a notepad, trying to make sure she had her story airtight, and practicing some lines that would make it seem like what she was talking about wasn't a big moment at all. With enough practice, maybe she'd even believe it!

Flash had just arrived in town a little bit ago and he already seemed a little annoyed about something. "Kiernan warns me about weird stuff, but not about stairs. That's helpful," he muttered as he rolled up to the counter to order a coffee.

Once he got past his grumbling, he had to admit that Fandom seemed nice. Quiet, so far. Smaller than he expected, though. Not that it was a complaint. That meant that if everything went FUBAR, at least it would probably be manageable.

After the barista handed his coffee over, Flash rolled to a table and looked out the window to people-watch while he went over his game plan:

Find a place to stay for a few days. Figure out who knows something about powerful magic. See if they can find and perform some kind of spell to remove a Hellmark placed on him by one of the most powerful devils around.

Simple, right? Sure it was! At least that's what Flash was going to keep telling himself. And hey, this coffee was pretty good. Things were looking up at the moment!

[OOC: New guy in town! Post is open, naturally.]
