Roland had woken up with a craving for Tim Horton's.

J,GOB was at least a better replacement than some of the other American options he'd heard about.

He had himself a couple nice looking donuts. He had coffee. And he was only a day late celebrating the birthday of one of the more avant garde musicians of his era.

He didn't have any props -- or an accordion -- but he still felt he captured the spirit of the music well enough.

Apparently there was new furniture in the shop now, which Aeryn found nice enough.

Even if she did feel the need to rearrange certain items in the display cases now because they were the things that seemed to get the most attention, or because they'd be in a better position for her to grab in case of an emergency. She was thoughtful like that.

Now that she didn't have classes anymore, Maddie had a new day to work. She also had this super fun feeling of pressure that if she was going to work here, she should really get to doing something with the time she had left in town. So she was spending her free time trying to come up with ideas for the Foundation.

So far it wasn't going great. She might have to lower her standards a tiny lot.

On the plus side, Jake didn't have to deal with a hungover Tino.

On the minus side, Jake had to deal with a hungover Jake. Which, naturally, meant drinking even more, because that's how he rolled.

Eleanor was in a wonderful mood at her shift today. She might start wearing her swimsuit to her beach class. She wondered if Jono would mind if she worked her shift in a swimsuit and a sarong. Possibly, if she dripped saltwater over the CDs.

So she'd bring a change of clothes, then. The music she'd picked at random seemed to fit her mood nicely.

Groovy Tunes was open.

(OCD-free, and expect great bouts of SP between 3 and 9 EST while I'm at work please!)

Herbs. For reasons that Elsa couldn't quite put a finger on, the magic shop today had gotten in a shipment of herbs.

And not even herbs that seemed to be important for any actual magical rituals. Elsa was staring, perplexed, at parsley. Dill. Oregano. Cilantro. All fantastic if she had much of an ability to cook and an inclination to make pasta, perhaps, but who used dill while performing a good luck ritual?

What was she supposed to do with this?

She sighed, and then decided the best thing for it was to put out a display all the same. If nothing else, they smelled nice. The mint was especially pleasant.

The tables and chairs had finally come in, and were here to stay.

The new clerk was now insisting that he be called "Tinu" -- thanks, Josh! -- but it was a small price to pay for having someone not actively undermining Squall's plans for the store. Together, Squall and Tinu had carried shelves, carousels, and cardboard displays to the edges of the store, clearing up a large central area.

Before they could set the tables up, however, a loud barking came from outside the store. Angelo rushed in, barked excitedly, and began digging at the floor in the middle of the room. Shreds of carpet and splinters of wood went flying everywhere. Before Squall could even yell at her to stop, she recovered a metal lockbox from the hole and tossed it to him proudly. Squall looked from the box, to the hole in the floor, to Angelo's adorably self-satisfied expression. "...Good girl?" Angelo barked happily and ran off again.

One deft swing of Squall's gunblade clove through the box's lock without damaging the contents. It was full of comics -- old ones, many of them first editions. "Those are very valuable," Tinu offered helpfully.

Squall just grunted noncommittally. He was still going to have to fix the floor.

"I shall name a meta for Lillipup after her," Tinu added.
