Celia's mood was cloudy, and matched the day outside. The trip to Rapture seemed to loom out before her -- the fact that she'd already argued with the two people closest to her over it seemed like a bad omen, along with the fact that the only person who she'd agreed with on the subject at all was Barry.

In any case, she was all set to spend the day brooding over it, except that when she walked through the door of the Magic Box today, she was immediately doused with what felt like gallons of ice water.

Thanks to her gifts, Celia wasn't cold or wet for long, but it did at least shake her out of her mood. She pulled the water from her skirts and warmed her skin, leaving her hair to air-dry as she set to work doing something to cheer herself up -- and what would combat such a foul mood and being soaked? Drawing funny moustaches on some of the pumpkins with faces.

(Some of them were very elegant pumpkins, you see, and needed elegant facial hair to match.)

The phones were ringing. More than ringing. It was a constant reverberation through the office since Vic entered in this morning and for some reason it was Vic's responsibility to answer them.

"Ma'am? I'm sorry you're continuously being attacked by ice water but unfortunately there's not much I can do about it," Vic said for the 100th time since this morning. "Perhaps you'd be better off AHAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Vic sighed and reached for the towel Ralph was handing her.

"Sorry, Ma'am. Just give to the ALS. Maybe it will stop."

Vic sighed and sent another text to Ferg after she dried. Tell Walt I hate him. Seriously.

It was going to be a long day.

Well, it looked like the little ice water weather problem had continued into today. If it had only been happening outside, then Éponine wouldn't have bothered coming inside at all. Avoiding getting soaked wasn't the issue. Not to say that she enjoyed it, but since there was no apparent way to avoid it and she had more practice than she liked in resigning herself to being drenched in unexpected-but-inevitable cold water her main concern was not having to mop up water from all over the post office or getting a bunch of paper items soggy.

She did have to go inside, though, and would just have to put up with doing a few bouts of mopping throughout the day, but since she didn't want to do that any more than absolutely necessary, well. She could just sit out on the front steps of the post office with a coffee (iced, because why ruin it otherwise) and a plastic bag full of donut holes and watch for any customers headed that way.

And hum tunelessly to herself with a deadpan expression whenever the occasional and highly localized ice water deluge hit.

There were all sorts of problems at Caritas today. Kitty had barely gotten in the door when she'd been drenched with ice water, which she thought was completely unfair since that happened to her yesterday. Then about five minutes later Tino got it, and Kitty had been standing just close enough to get it, too.

At that point she abandoned all plans to go home and change, which was good because while she was mopping up the floor she got doused again.

So, you know, if you want to see soaking wet bartenders, you're in the right place.

Atton hadn't actually left his apartment after class last week, and... well, he was running out of groceries, so with great effort he'd hauled ass out of bed and gone into town to get some. He'd been planning to drag it all back to the apartment and board himself in for the next 24 hours, too, if the island hadn't intervened.

Honestly, Force reflexes should be mandatory in this place. If Atton hadn't had them, there's no way he could've gotten out of the way of the sudden splash of ice water falling down from the heavens.

After spitting out some Twi'lekki curses, he'd sped off into the nearest place with a roof and that's where he was now, looking like hell over a cup of coffee he'd really only bought so he'd have a reason to be here. Space. What the hell had that even been?
