Alana spent her shift toggling between trying to chose a Homecoming dress, and sketching out possible float designs for the parade Friday.

If her work got rather ignored in the middle of all that ... well, it was understandable. Though the books didn't seem to think so; there were faint whimpers coming from the children's book area, as if they felt neglected.

"I'll snuggle the board books later," Alana promised, and went back to sketching.
