At least the candy corn thing from last week hadn't carried over into this week, which was a good thing because thanks to the mailboxes they had more than enough for trick-or-treating supplies for the next three years at least, and Éponine didn't think she could handle her coworkers being hopped up on sugar for the indeterminate future.

Then again, there were caramel-covered candy apples stuck to the walls of the lobby today, and -- in between bites of one that she'd pried loose -- she was seriously considering telling people to use them to stick their stamps to their envelopes.

Kitty hadn't had enough time for laundry the last couple days and she was already packed for Xavier's, which meant today saw the return of the leather pants. (You're welcome for the mental image, Clint.) So far it was shaping up to be a pretty quiet night, just Kitty and Tino-
