Fandom Post Office, April 7 (Tuesday)

Everything was neat and orderly in the post office this morning when Éponine arrived: no ominous-looking packages or inexplicably random bulk deliveries, no sudden explosions of packaging material all over the supply room, no phones ringing off the hook.

That was suspicious.

Which meant that when she went to start sorting mail into post office boxes and was met with a Slinky avalanche from the open box doors, she wasn't even remotely surprised; she just rolled her eyes, sighed in resignation, and waited for the Slinkies to stop falling before she went on with her work.

Paranoia paid off sometimes.

Today all the beer had been replaced by Coors Light.

Tino insisted that he didn't do anything, even after Kitty pointed out that April Fool's was last week, and there didn't seem to be any bottles of any other brand hidden anywhere. Kitty honestly considered closing rather than doing that to her customers, but she stayed open and just hoped everyone wanted the wine or hard stuff.

Well, it was the Tuesday after Easter, so it was half-price candy week!

Seriously, get the Peeps out of the store. They were creeping Mara out. Their beady black eyes were following her as she walked around the store, doing research for Hatter's Friday class.

The phone in the kitchen was ringing again. "You get it," Cook ordered the busboy. "I'm busy."

"No you're not!" The busboy glared. "You're just stirring! I could stir!"

"Fine," Cook said. "You get it. I outrank you."

"But it's just that guy upstairs," the busboy whined. "And when I make a food delivery, he makes me fluff his pillows and fetch him water and last time I had to open up a DayQuil container because the blister pack was 'too strong for his weakened condition.'" He looked around the kitchen and found absolutely no sympathy. "All right," he grumbled. "But I'd better get paid for the time I'm upstairs, listening to him complain that we're ignoring his orders and only sending up soup."

"Tell him Eliot said that was all he could have," the dishwasher suggested.

"Is that true?" the busboy asked.

The dishwasher shrugged. "Who cares? Just tell him. He'll still complain, but at least not about us."
