After an amazing week, which nicely made up for the terrible one the week before it, it felt a little bit weird going back to a just plain normal one.

The kitchen staff, all of whom were wearing Wisconsin cheese wedge hats, looked up from their huddle by the lunch counter when Eliot came in.

"We held an election for a new manager while you were gone," the cook said. "After a three way tie vote we decided to abolish the management structure completely. We're now a perfect democracy in which no one person's vote counts more than any other person's."

Eliot sighed. "And how's that working out for you?"

"So far every vote has ended in a three way tie." The cook gave a little 'what can you do?' shrug. Behind him, the dry storage pantry burst open and out poured a mountain of potatoes.

Yup, perfectly normal start to a perfectly normal week.

"Congratulations," Emma said dryly once it seemed like everyone that was going to come had arrived. "You survived seven weeks with me at the head of the room. You've already done better than most of my interns."

Mind, Emma's interns had to suffer entire days with her in the corporate offices of the Hellfire Club, moving money around and making more of it. Most of the poor children didn't last a week.

"As a reward, today you get to play with psionics you might not normally have access to," she continued, dumping out a gym bag filled with gloves similar to that of her Ghost Suit. "Put them on, you'll have minor TK. Try not to abuse it."

"If you already have TK, you're welcome to try seeing the world through my eyes, literally." Emma tapped the side of her head. "We can do a general ride-along, or with the permission of a classmate, hear and see them the way I do."
