Yesterday had been bad enough for a girl used to (and dressed for) Rivaini weather, but today was ridiculously cold as far as Naishe was concerned and her top priority today had been finding somewhere to get a hot meal. Indoors.

Even after she'd found this place, between her lack of letters and lack of coin actually getting that meal was an adventure in itself (though one aided by the fact the staff were used to weekends like this and she wasn't asking for one of the Perk's more caffeinated monstrosities), but she finally had a plate of warm pastries and a pot of sweet, spiced tea in front of her.

Which meant it was as good a time as any to take out her deck of cards and practice her shuffle.

Jack had spent his entire weetiny weekend gorging on sugared cereal and watching the kind of cartoons that were easy to understand even with a fairly severe language barrier in place. It had been far more relaxing than the last several times he was five years old, he could give it that much.

It had also left him with a wicked sugar hangover, but he figured that was par for the course.

The sign he made for the outside of the club read, Come in & enjoy one benefit of being an adult.

Eliot had woken up this morning on the floor of his living room, his entire linen closet and most of his couch piled on top of him from where it'd collapsed overnight, still tired and achy from repeatedly falling off the roof of Luke's.

He'd forgotten what a reckless kid he'd been. Also how carefree and light he'd been.

He ducked out quick, leaving a note for Hardison and Parker -- who he was reasonably certain were still under the pile of pillows and blankets -- and headed for the diner. He was back to being faintly pissed at Hardison, though the reasons why felt a bit sillier, and nothing beat cooking for working out frustrations and aching nostalgia.

Besides, he was pretty sure he wasn't the only one regretting living off things like poptarts and pizza bagels all weekend.

Today's specials
Garlic crusted rack of lamb
Roasted corn, wild mushroom, and spinach risotto
Baba au Rhum

Luke's was open.

Jones wasn't quite sure how the Christmas decorations had suddenly appeared in the store. Nor was she sure how the "Black Friday Sales" signs had appeared in the window.

She just assumed it was the books again.

"The decorations may stay," she called out to one in particular as she took down the signs. "However the signs are garish and not appropriate and will not be allowed to be posted."

The bookstore might have other ideas of course.
