Despite the weather, despite any protestations on Éponine's part, the mail still had to go out. Well, at least she had a nice warm coat and properly-fitting boots to do it in, so all things considered it wasn't that bad.

This did not, however, mean that she wasn't poking at her phone in her spare time, trying to figure out if she could convince someone to get her a reindeer or something to ride on her delivery route.

Since they still wouldn't let her drive. Annoying, that.

Just in case such a thing might prove necessary again in the near future, Jessica was adapting the heat ray she assembled next week to attach to a used Roomba. She wasn't well versed with building drones, but she could throw a heating unit onto the back of one.

The fun part was modifying the Roomba's casing so that the heat wouldn't fry it and it wouldn't drown in the water from melted ice. Jessica could also do that. And if it meant Cap didn't have to shovel everyone's walks every time there was a snowstorm... Well, he would probably still do it anyway, maybe faster than her robot. But still. It was something different to work on.

while the weather outside was frightful, inside the heat was on the fritz and Kitty thought it was a little like working in hell, especially when she had to keep telling Tino to keep his shirt on.

Help.

Mary had spent most of her life in Las Vegas. While it wasn't unusual to get some snow in the mountains, she'd never really dealt with the quantity of snow that had fallen over the weekend. The hotel entrance was partially blocked by snow, and most of the staff had failed to make it in. Mary wasn't about to go out there herself in her heels, so she tried to persuade the only other employee she had on the premises to pick up a shovel.

"Come on, Gunther. I know I can count on you." Except she couldn't, because Gunther ignored her and retreated to his nice, warm kitchen.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel
