Jessica still had yet to return from wherever she'd gone and honestly, Tony could venture a guess that she might be in trouble. You know. An educated guess based on their lives.

"Sir, the measurements for the requested materials are on the console to your right."

And there were tubes someone wanted him to make. If he'd had access to any of his manufacturing plants, this wouldn't be a problem. But he didn't anymore, so it sort of was.

"Back burner it," Tony replied, rubbing the tension headache starting at the bridge of his nose. "Bring up Jess's last location."

Yesterday's shift at the music store had left Alluka pondering important clothing choices today as she settled her toys (just two of them today) on the counter and went to wander through the racks.

She wondered what it would be like, to wear something that people would see you wearing for ages and ages.

She wondered how hard it would be to pick out an outfit like that. Her toys had no suggestions for her--since they were stuck looking how they always looked no matter what--so she had to think about it by herself.

It kinda made her head hurt, but she kept at it as she rejected outfit after outfit.

Eliot hadn't managed to get back to Oklahoma for Mother's Day this year. It was just poorly timed, with the new semester starting and the team's recovery vacation just ending, and all the crap that had gone down last month. Instead, he'd sent his usual messenger by with flowers for his mom's grave, and gotten an earful from Trudy about "going back to his old ways" and how she didn't want him to "disappear for another 20 years".

And here he'd thought life was going to be easier after he reconnected with his sister.

It didn't help that his kitchen staff were all still cooing over their facebook messages to their mothers.

"Here's me and PopPop," the dishwasher said proudly.

"Did you miss the point of what we're doing here?" the cook asked.

"I have two dads," the dishwasher answered stiffly. "So PopPop gets Mother's Day."

The busboy and the entire waitstaff let out a little "awwwwww!" and swarmed over to the dishwasher.

"Y'all're gonna work at some point, right?" Eliot asked.

They shushed him.
