Ringo had been intending to do this, well, forever ago. But she'd basically spent weeks getting distracted. This morning, though, she'd woken up, remembered she had no classes today, and decided that today was the day.

She'd taken her drone for a couple of test flights after she'd finished repairing it, and it seemed to be working just fine now. (She'd also managed to get good enough with it to not, you know, fly it into the ground anymore. Not that the time that had happened had been her fault, of course.) So today was the day she was going to try flying it on the move. After all, the whole reason she'd gotten it was that sweet video online of some AT tricks.

Now she was riding along slowly, barely more than a fast walk, as she tried to get the hang of riding and flying a drone almost entirely using its built-in camera rather than looking at it. It was kind of weird, to have most of her attention focused on a view of herself from twenty or thirty feet away. Somehow watching yourself move in real time was pretty brain-bendy.

Ringo hoped she got used to it soon, though, because she really wanted to do more than just ride around slowly on nice wide, flat surfaces because coordination was hard when you were trying to get used to an utterly alien perspective.

After her Adventuring class, Ada opened up Demon Marcus and set to work on the items in her alterations bin. It looked like someone else had been working on the pile -- Sparkle, probably -- but she really wanted to get it cleared out and caught-up before students started arriving for fall and the Homecoming orders started coming in.

Demon Marcus was open, and the employee can help you!

Post Office, Thursday

The post office was being its usual quiet self, this week, so Tip had her notebook out and was working on her homework for her romance writing class. She ended up handwavily deciding to do a paranormal Regency period romance, sort of like those books where the author took Jane Austen and threw in zombies, but different. Because -- because she said so. Also they weren't zombies. Tip wasn't actually sure what the paranormal side of her story would be like yet; she wanted to find something really obscure that there hadn't been a million books and movies and tv shows about lately, which meant zombies, vampires, werewolves, fairies, and even selkies were out. Also ghosts. Those would send it over into gothic territory, anyway.

So while she had her heroine mostly worked out (using Elizabeth Bennett template, because someone famous had said that mature artists steal, even if the internet couldn't work out exactly who), she still hadn't decided on the love interest. Other than that it wouldn't be a boy. Heteronormativity had been done, after all. Also, boys were dumb.

Bill attempted to help by making his own suggestions, but Tip pointed out that if the love interest were a robot, it wouldn't be paranormal anymore. Robots were sci-fi, after all. Though that did have some interesting implications with regards to sexuality and the use of toys. . . .

Peter was back today. There wasn't much to explore on the island, and the cheese planet was...messy. Besides, there was something soothing about being around growing things, and helping them out.

Midway through the day, "pruning dead leaves and taking care of plants" turned into "dusting and sweeping", but if he was spending time here, it might as well be clean, right?

So, the pony thing had been... interesting, and it had really hammered home how much Sam wanted to spend more time in Fandom, to keep an eye on Zoe and Grace and to help whenever things went haywire as they inevitably would again. He'd thought about going back and teaching another class, but it was weird to teach without Dean, so Sam had gone looking for work in town instead. His intention had just been to get a job, but after a few letters of correspondence back and forth, he now had the keys to the Magic Box and a surprising feeling of responsibility.

He spent most of the morning checking inventory, seeing how everything was organized, and bringing up Google on his phone to try to figure out what some of these herbs were even for. It was actually pretty nice to throw himself into something where he had a lot to learn.

Absolutely fed up with her lopsided clunk-CLUNK walk, which she'd been stuck with ever since she'd re-formed around the rocky bits to find that her limb enhancers were down one foot, Peridot had decided to employ desperate measures. Taking matters into her own touch stumps, she marched herself down to the rocks, and was now using her arm's built-in tractor beam to rearrange the largest of the boulders in the area that she had been in when the foot in question had become misplaced.

So far, she wasn't seeing much luck. She was succeeding in shuffling rocks around, though. Really, really big ones. After a few hours of this, a couple of gremlins appeared and started helping, though the pebbles they were hefting around were really more a gesture of solidarity to their former Gremlin Queen (you lose your memories for one weekend!!), and didn't actually contribute much to the headway that Peridot was making.

At this rate, she was going to have to make a new foot. Or start bribing her gremlin minions to look harder, possibly with cake.

[OOC: Open! The saga of Peridot's terrible luck with limb enhancers continues.]
