Anders wouldn't have minded the enormous cauldron that had appeared in the aisle of Wiccan supplies so very much, but the foul green smoke it kept belching out was not reassuring.

Anders tried to stay at the opposite end of the store for the duration of his shift. He had his new staff at hand in case anything came up (or crawled up) that needed to be fought, but he was holding onto the hope the cauldron and smoke had been nothing more than someone's misguided attempt at fall decor.

Luke's, Sunday

Kanan was actually in a good mood today when he came in for his shift at Luke's. The rest of the staff didn't trust it one bit.

"He's smiling too much," the dishwasher muttered to the busboy. "I think he's planning something."

"Maybe today's the day he finally cracks," the cook added, in a stage whisper from a safe vantage point in the kitchen. "He's not armed, is he?"

"He's always armed!"

All eyes went to the blaster at Kanan's hip. A few audible gulps could be heard from here and there around the diner.

Kanan just ignored them all, smiled, and drank his coffee while reading the morning paper from the mainland. Last night had gone well for him. He had multiple dates lined up for this week starting with one with Electroclash tonight, and he'd met a guy who might know a guy who could help him get his hands on some ship fuel. Let the staff fret. They were going to no matter what he did, anyway.

"Aaaaah god I'm dyyyyyyyyyying!"

Sparkle couldn't.

"How? What did they have to sell to the devil to make you exist?!"

He just could. Not.

"I NEED LIKE TEN."

The new shipment of scarves was in for the fall. They were long and thick and warm and fleecy and while there were some in solid colours and cute fall patterns like leaves and little bats and whatnot, there were also a few in various pride patterns. It had taken all of thirty seconds before Sparkle had wrapped himself in warm fluffy rainbows, and there he was going to stay, grinning out from behind the counter under a pile of scarves and working his way through a giant cup of hot chocolate.

Fall was basically the best.

After (quite possibly) spending a bit too much time with Ringo, Alluka made it into work with Mr. Bubbles in tow. She greeted the stereo cheerfully and, after asking it what it wanted to play today, went looking for the music it wanted.

She didn't have to, of course, since the stereo could play pretty much anything it wanted when it wanted if it wanted.

But it was nice to make the effort for it, wasn't it?

And it wasn't too big of a deal if she couldn't find it either.
