Covent Garden Flowers, Wednesday

Peter had spent yesterday as a minotaur. He still had no idea what the island was doing there. Still, it was better than a week as a bat, so he'd take it.

And at least today he wasn't running into everything with horns.

The flowers were especially colorful today, with a large shipment of marigolds and roses of several colors waiting. Peter unpacked them and set them up in the front windows, where they seemed happy enough.

Well, some of them seemed to be humming, anyway.

The flower shop was open!

The park, Wednesday afternoon

So, it was Day of the Dead. Not that Miguel had ever been very religious, and not that he had anyone whose grave he wanted to visit anyway, but being stuck away from home had made him homesick enough to make some pan de muerto.

He left some for his roommates, and then took the rest of it out to the park to feed the ducks. They were probably even less religious than he was, and he doubted any of them had been further south than Maryland, but hey - you celebrate your holidays your way.

Meanwhile, Miguel was sitting pensively on a bench, feeding sweet bread to the ducks and thinking.

Groovy Tunes, Wednesday

So Breq had finally got to experience an example of what Fandom occasionally offered its citizen. Today she was no longer a collage of body parts with limited vocabulary and coordination problems, and she was looking forward to her shift at Groovy Tunes.

Only this turned out to be the day when the stereo first decided to be stubborn to her. Not in a horrible way, though. Breq was just mildly intrigued that every song she played was then played backwards. It could be worse.
