The cook and the busboy were arguing when Miguel got there, and he had no intentions of being dragged into it.

Which lasted just until he heard what they were arguing about.

He had his own feelings on the matter, but still. "Tell you what - you make those versions, I'll make these, and we'll see which sells better."

That seemed to work for them.

"What's all this, then?" Amaya asked, frowning a little as she came in to get settled into a shift at the store, only to find some unexpected boxes waiting for her at the register. She didn't wait for Apu to answer, opening one of the boxes and taking a look, and growing increasingly more confused.

"Aren't these those little candy hearts that we sold for Valentine's Day?" she asked, lifting a box out and shaking it a little and making a face. "The ones with the sweet little sayings on it? Weren't we supposed to get these...what was it?...two week ago?"

Apu shrugged, and Amaya grunted, tossing the little box back into the bigger box. "Guess that's what you get, dealin' with merchants from all sortsa times and places," she reasoned, though she wasn't exactly happy about it. "Gonna have at least a few of 'em inexplicably two weeks behind schedule, since they're probably two weeks behind us in time!"

So now she was left wondering what she was going to do with a bunch of leftover candy...or possibly how she could incorporate them into her class.
