in_sidon_we_trust: (look to the side)

Although Sidon was still feeling quite influenced by all of this blasted pollen, his talk with Peridot yesterday had at least allowed him some perspective, as well as a much needed verbal outlet for some of his frustrations. He felt he at least understood it better now, knew there was at least one person out there who could at least comprehend his frustrations even from an objective standpoint, and he now had countdown of sorts to when he might expect for it to finally clear up. It was a small relief that went a long way.

Especially when coming to work that Thursday to be blatantly reminded that, yes indeed, he was not alone in being a non-human under this spell, either. There were many animals at Furnado, after all, and Sidon suspected that there may be many more in their near future.

The bright side was that all these riled up animals left for a lot of messes that needed to be cleaned, keeping Sidon distracted and busy throughout the day.

Furnado is open!

So, sure, Summer had been given a morning off of radio due to the fact that the squirrels knew her all too well by now, but by now, she had a routine, dammit, and she knew she wouldn't be able to function without her Thursday dosage of sugar and caffeine. She was just going to go a little later, between her classes, and she'd be good to go, maybe milling around a little for some less-than-innocent people watching.

Even with everything going on, the scene felt pretty normal. The usual buzz of people getting their drinks, with maybe that extra edge that had gotten pretty familiar as the week went on.

Until there was a commotion at the station with the cream and sugar, as a man shouted out, "NO CREAM AGAIN!" He'd opened the pitcher of creamer, shaking it around, spilling what little cream did still remain inside all over the table, and then threw it on the table with a loud clatter, picked it up again, and threw it in the trash. He turned toward the counter, shouting "I need a towel!" at the baristas, because, of course, his jacket was now covered in the cream that apparently there was none of.

Summer was just going to watch a little wide-eyed, thinking of how she'd have missed this if she'd have just skipped out, and she was so glad she didn't.

[[soooo...that's a thing that literally just happened in my life. Of course I had to make it a post. open, of course!]]

Jenkins still had one of the dogs from yesterday's class with him in the Magic Box today. The dog, a jack russell terrier which had made . . . let's say "good friends" with Jenkins' pant leg, was currently making the acquaintance of a chair leg.

"Aren't you getting tired?" Jenkins asked it as he put the finishing touches on his latest attempt at an antidote to the infernal pollen. "Surely you must at least be getting chafed." His beaker began to smoke faintly. Jenkins gave it a whiff, winced, then nodded and brought it over to the dog.

"Alright, what do you think of this, then?" he asked the dog. The dog paused long enough in its activity to give the beaker a good sniff. Its tail began to wag excitedly, and it turned away from the chair leg with a happy bark. "Excellent! I'd certainly call that progre -- and you're back on my leg. Well. I suppose we'll have to take a look at that drawing board again, won't we."

The weather was pleasant and Dark Nation was antsy, which had led to Rufus leaving his work and taking his dog out for a long run around the island and then, since Dark Nation had still been energetic, Rufus had found himself on the beach, throwing a Frisbee for Dark Nation to race after like a maniac as the waves lapped at the shore.

The pollen still wasn't bothering him. Too bad, island.

While Dark Nation was chasing the Frisbee, Rufus sent off a couple of texts.

A text from Rufus of all people was likely not what Zack was expecting while out on holidays.

Fair. An associate and I are doing something exceedingly hazardous this weekend. Might I borrow a summons or two?

That was about as polite as Rufus ever got. Be impressed, Zack. Rufus had asked.

The other was much more his usual speed, and to his babysitter: I’m invading a hostile world this weekend to steal a computer.

Then he had to wrestle the Frisbee away from Dark Nation to toss it again.
