Hernando came in early that morning to hang the pictures Sparkle had taken. The more risqué of the four, he placed off to one side so it wasn't a direct line of sight from the door but also made sure to move one of the track lights to a spot just above that frame on the wall to subtly direct the gaze in that direction.
Of the other three, he placed the picture of glittery matcha falling from bare hands onto black gloves into pride-of-place in the center, where it almost couldn't be missed by anyone walking in the door. When he went to hang the aggressive, black nail polished hand, the wall ate the hanger.
Hernando frowned a little, and then asked, "Where would you have me put it?" A track light turned on, pointing at a spot on the wall opposite the counter. Hernando immediately saw why. The pictures around it were primarily black and white. The nail polish would tie into those but the tea would present a pleasing pop of color. "Good choice," he murmured to the store, hanging the picture in the chosen spot.
The shot of fingers in the tea went on the wall between the bathroom doors.
Simon arrived with the cupcake delivery. Hernando spent a few minutes artfully arranging them on the stands. Several of the quokka were hopping up and down in front of the counter. A glance between them and the cupcakes showed all their attention on one that had a small carrot piped on top. "Very well," he said, taking it down and slicing it into small portions on a plate. He threw the paper away and placed it down. One of the quokka shouldered the others out of the way. "Dave! Share, or I will take it away and throw it in the trash," Hernando scolded. Dave chittered at him. "I mean it," Hernando warned, taking a step toward the plate. Dave gave a little grunt and grudgingly moved aside. Watching them eat the crumbs in their little paws made Hernando smile - it was too cute for words.
The sign rattled itself, so he went to see what it wanted. Words appeared.
