Luke's Diner, Thursday

There were teddy bears at Luke's today. Not as decorations, which Hardison could have blamed on the staff, but diners. Just a table full of teddy bears having tea. High tea, it looked like. They were all neatly dressed, sharing crumpets and cakes and tiny finger sandwiches, and the busboy was walking around the table, making polite conversation as he refilled tea cups and fetched more lemon wedges and sugar cubes.

Honestly, at this point, a teddy bear tea party didn't even make Hardison's top ten weirdest things, so after a long look to make sure that, yes, he was seeing what he thought he was seeing, he just grabbed a booth for himself, took out a laptop, and made the busboy fetch him a plate of scones too.

What? He was here for lemon curd and clotted cream, okay?

Furnado Animal Shelter; Thursday [08/23].

It was very obvious that Sidon would have to be back on the island before Saturday, but, being a dutiful and loyal young Zora, he also felt it was important to return in time for his shift at the animal shelter on Thursday, as well, and so there he was, fresh arrived from Hyrule with a lot on his mind.

...and plenty of gifts. As far as the shelter was concerned, that apparently meant some Chillfin Trout, some Hearty Blueshell Snails, and Bright-Eyed Crabs for the tanks.

"For the tanks, you silly cats," Sidon lightly chided the crowd of felines that had surrounded him, "not for your bellies!"

Pleased with being able to bring a little more of Hyrule with him to Fandom, Sidon merrily went about his various tasks, oblivious to any plotting on the part of the cats to bring a little more of Hyrule into their diets.

Furnado is open!

T42 - Thursday

The pussy willows he had bought from Peter had rooted nicely in the nutrient gel Hernando had placed them in.

Too well.

He arrived at the shop to find that they'd had kittens. The quokka were playing herd to a dozen or more thumb-sized gray kittens that were waddling to and fro on the floor near the vase the parent plants were in. The pussy willows were purring in a self-satisfied manner. The kittens were making tiny mews and louder rumbling purrs as they played with the quokka.

After staring at the tableau in completely dumbfounded disbelief for a few minutes, Hernando went and retrieved one of the larger white bakery boxes and lined it with napkins. He began to very gently scoop up the miniature baby cats and place them in the box. They objected, of course, but their itty bitty claws weren't sharp enough to gain purchase on the walls of the box.

What exactly did one do with a box full of ...infant pussy willows? Pussy willow seeds? They looked like regular cats made small.

Hernando put the box on the counter. Then he put the sign outside.

Covent Garden Flowers, Thursday

The flower shop smelled like tar today.

Octavia had no idea why. She kept looking around for the source but couldn't place it. So basically, she was just making herself look foolish by going around, suspiciously sniffing every plant in turn.

But it was all the same, anyway. Wasn't as if anyone was around to see it.
