Breq was looking up music traditionally used for ballet. Even if the teacher was open to unconventional music choices, Breq still wanted to get a better idea. Since there was nothing strange going on today, she decided she could just as well do some practice, so she spent a lot of the day going through the basic ballet position, while humming along to the music.
