special_rabbit: (FORGE!)

After numerous setbacks and complications that made finishing the finer details on some fussy work either particularly difficult or downright impossible, Amaya had finally managed to finish the set of knives and stars for Beau, had them ready to go for her in a nice little velvet-lined box for whenever she had a chance to pass the news onto her and she could pick them up. Which was great, because Amaya (of course) already had another project in mind that she was itching to get to, because she had only about a week to get all the work she wanted to do done to pattern the steel for Seivarden's sword.

Which involved a lot of forging and hammering and then cutting. Forging those pieces together again, hammering them out, then cutting them again. First in halves, then in quarters, then into little tiny pieces to be forged together all in a row. Forge, hammer, cut, forge, hammer, cut. Fold it a couple of times here and there. Lather, rinse, repeat.

She imagined some people might think that was an awful lot of work to put into a blade for someone who didn't even like swords, but...well, those people were clearly missing the point that the better half of the reason she was doing it was because she enjoyed it.

Damascus steel was just so, so satisfying.

Prompto was relieved to find out that there wasn't a whole lot of stuff that needed doing at the shelter that day, because he, of course, would do whatever was expected of him, it was his job, but with the week that he'd had and knowing what the weeks he was going to have ahead of him were going to be like, he wanted to squeeze in as much puppy time as he possibly could today.

Especially since it really hadn't taken him long at all to start really feeling Girl's absence, now that Zack was back and she was back with him. Which was fine; it took him a little while to get used to Tiny's absence, too, when she had left, but it helped knowing that this was how things should be, anyway, and Girl was just as stoked to be reuinited with Zack as Zack was with her and that was, like, one of the best things ever, and he was just glad he had the chance to take care of her while he did, and after these next few weeks, he'll be used to her being gone and it was all good.

And it didn't take long once puppy time started for Prompto to just be covered in them, sighing happily, and wondering if the gnomes at Portalocity would be super annoyed with him if he went and changed his portal time again just to maybe have a liiiiiittle more time with the pups...

...and that's when Prompto realized he truly did have a problem. He was definitely a total pupaholic.

Was Vette taking advantage of the fact that she worked in the place that sold guns in order to stock up on ammo today?

Vette was absolutely taking advantage of the fact that she worked in the place that sold guns in order to stock up on ammo today! She still had no idea what kind of vacation Nina had in mind, but if she was being hauled off for one, there was no way she was going anywhere without making darn sure that she wasn't going to pull the trigger on one of her blasters only to find a distinct lack of bolts to follow.

It was kind of like working!

Purchases were being made!

Go team!

Another wet one out there meant another Friday spent in the warehouse, with Kanan meditating his way through the morning and on as long as he could get away with before anybody's arrival to train. Today, rather than simply reaching out in the Force, he was levitating the disparate parts of his lightsaber around himself, quietly probing each piece to make certain it was all just so.

Basically giving the whole thing a mystical tune-up. Not that it was especially necessary, not since Master Kiwiiks had gone at it again the other weekend while he was busy being a dirty wizard hobo, but it was good, too, to be aware of just what she'd done with it.

One of these weekends Hera would turn into an ancient, long dead Jedi Master, and he would be himself, instead of a round cat or a scruffy Zemnian man with a lithe cat, and wouldn't that be an experience?

Fjord was at work today, absolutely.

Fjord was maybe the tiniest bit tired today, however. Not tackling his job with anything that particularly resembled finesse or enthusiasm, he was here to pour drinks and kill time, and looking up with just the slightest bit of wariness in his eye every time somebody walked through the door.

Which would be an interesting counterpoint to the way Tino was mixing drinks while wearing a pair of plush rabbit ears on his head, but there you have it.

With a little bit more distance between the kids' departure, Liam was finding himself back on a more even footing as he made his way into the Trooper Station today.

Enough so that even Calvin's dire warning about the evidence room didn't particularly phase him.

Nor did seeing that the evidence room was currently full of pudding cups. Not in the sense of the things that had been in there had been turned in to pudding cups, because let's be real, in a town with Fandom's crime rate, there wasn't much evidence to need to worry about cataloging. It's just that in addition to the handful of storage boxes and miscellaneous other items that wouldn't fit in storage boxes, every available surface was also covered in pudding cups.

"It's not even that bad," Liam said, rolling his eyes at Calvin. "When you said 'pudding' I thought you just meant, like, globs of it." This, they could... box up and put in the break room for snacks? Donate to a food bank on the mainland? Both, probably. There was a hell of a lot of pudding.
