Beau -- in pixelated, 16-bit form -- came charging through the door of the gym holding a Koopa Troopa shell over her head and bellowed out the door into the street, "YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT! SUCK IT!"

And chucked the shell with both hands, as hard as she could, at the Goombas that had been chasing her before shutting the door behind her.

She took stock of the state of the gym today, and funny thing: as it turned out, a multi-level facility lent itself very well to being converted into a platformer. You could jump up the sewer pipes to the upper levels, or hop up the stairs, or just see if you could leap up onto the bricks hovering in midair and get to the equipment you wanted from there.

Or never mind the equipment; it might be plenty of a workout just doing the jumping.

So guess what Beau was going to be doing today? No, really. Just guess.

. . . it wasn't really that much of a difference from her usual workdays, to be honest. Just with more random gold coins, apparently.

Rosa had pretty much decided she was already done with this one this week soon after she woke up, a feeling that had stuck with her consistently on the way to the station, wondering why she couldn't shake the nagging feeling that she should have just taken the big green pipe that was outside of the apartment building to get there faster. She decided to ignore that part of her brain that apparently thought jumping into pipes was a good idea, and came in expecting to handle whatever ridiculous calls this week was going to field as best she could.

She was not, however, expecting to walk in and find the usual white-clad troopers milling around as bipedal yellow turtle-like things (it was really hard to tell exactly what they were with those pixels) with variously colored shells.

"Ugh."

It wasn't necessarily that dealing with Koopa Troopas was worse than dealing with Stormtroopers, it was just the fact that Rosa had to deal with any of them at all.

"Just...go make sure no one's getting lost in those pipes today or anything," she told them whenever they came to bother her about something. "I don't know."

At least a quick peek out the window showed that it wasn't just Amaya's shop being altered by whatever whim had struck the island this time around, and as far as the transformations went, this one wasn't too bad, it just made her feel like she had to run upstairs and grab her glasses, but she still couldn't help being a little irked. Worst of it was that the weapons were gone again.

Well...

...mostly. The wall was filled with hammers instead of the usual swords and axes and maces and flails and what have you. Hammers...and flowers.

Now, Amaya liked flowers. She had a green thumb that was itching to get some things going upstairs in that greenhouse she'd put in this summer. But flowers as weapons? She was more than a little skeptical.

Until she actually picked on up and, through a subsequent set of actions that were more baffling than anything, found out that these flowers were primed and ready for fiery destruction. Something she found out thanks to a few of those little fireballs that spewed forth from it hopping right on over to one of the worktables and all but instantly igniting it.

"...this is a bad month for tables," she muttered to herself, sort of watching the blaze with wide, albeit pixelated eyes, before finally snapping to it and going to fetch something to put the fire out before she was down one more table and a bit pile of sixteen bit ash.

The Forge is open!

It had taken Éponine forever just to get to work today, what with everything being underwater and her having to surface for air every now and then and avoid the odd fish in the process. Honestly, she might not have made it if she hadn't swum up through that pipe and ended up tumbling out into the post office loading dock.

But now that she was here, she'd be spending the rest of the day sorting mail and getting it ready to go out again. Tomorrow, maybe, though. When it was dry again.

[OOC: Post office/post open, if you care to brave the water!]
