The music was gentle, almost unobtrusive.

Outside.

Inside, it was blasting at high volume, and it was driving Owen insane. Bad enough that all the walls were now creepy stone and block-shaped 'bookcases' that looked like the books had been drawn on one dot at a time, but the music--!

"If I hadn't been here for a few months already, I'd think I was losing my mind," Owen sighed, watching the lava spark and pop outside in the store's sudden, unexpected moat. "Actually, jury's still a bit out on that, come to think."

Caritas, Sunday

The weird had definitely been inside Caritas this week. It was still there, in fact, until the very moment that Atton stepped inside with a sour look on his face and lava singes on his nice boots.

The raccoon suits vanished. The marble? Jumped right back to brick. Even the lava lamps retreated.

"That's right," Atton muttered as he took a few more steps into the bar. "And don't you forget it."

Sometimes, knowing how to glower like a Sith could be really helpful.

So, magical flying raccoon onesie? Also great for getting across town without getting one's ass burned by lava, in case anybody was curious.

God, Sparkle was keeping this outfit as long as absolutely possible.

... And was apparently selling leaves, feathers, flowers, giant boots, frog suits, and other such weird nonsense in his shop today.

You know what, the fashion in this world was fricking weird, but it was just silly enough that he'd let it slide. And he kind of wanted to try everything on at least once to see what it did, was that bad?

Okay, so Kanan had lost his raccoon suit on Friday when Jack had biffed him a good one and made it poof. That was fine. He didn't miss being able to fly- he could jump far enough that it really didn't make much difference, though he was sort of missing the ability to fly anyway, just so that the trip to work could be a little less complex.

Still, when he got there, he wasn't terribly surprised to see that the staff seemed to be leaning hard into the lava motif outside.

Today's Specials:
Can it be charred? We'll char it! Can it be BBQ'd? We'll BBQ it!
Also, Pancakes

Kanan considered the specials board, and then shrugged.

Sure, that would do. He settled behind the counter and pulled out his phone, and then resumed writing an e-mail to Portalocity about how he didn't care if he wasn't authorized for access to Rey's reality, if they didn't hook him up with a portal there, he'd authorize his own damn self.

... So, that was how his week was going.
