Man, it was nice to have a normal week again. Norman settled in for a shift at the Magic Box with a smile. Everything - almost everything - seemed to be in order around here, save for some missing pearls and ammonite fossils that he'd been positive he had in stock with the semi-precious stones.

If that was the strangest thing he'd deal with today, he'd happily take it.

Furnado Animal Shelter, Tuesday

Do you want to know who noticed that all the sea creatures had gone missing pretty much right away? Zack, that was who. He'd gotten a call from the vet yesterday when she'd been doing her rounds saying that every single fish, shrimp, crab, and snail had gone missing overnight, and Zack had done no small amount of fretting and going around the shop for signs of break-in or maybe even break-out before he'd noticed that a lot of their non-living stock seemed to be missing, too.

It had started innocently enough, with an, "Oh, sorry, it looks like we're out of the seafood medley cat food that Whiskers likes this week, we'll put more on order for you."

It had quickly escalated into, "Okay, if you can't find the cuttlebone, we can used the crushed clam shells for the birds, they don't care where they get their calcium that much. What do you mean, we don't have those, either? Okay, I'll go up to the chicken coop and collect some eggs, then!"

... Zack did not like this reality. Not one bit.

Well, today, much like yesterday, was seeming pretty normal, although Wayne was sort of questioning the whole concept of normal and what that meant and how the fuck he didn't even know anymore, but he did know that there was no possible way this was what Uncle Eddie had in mind when he sent Wayne out here to experience a bit more of the world outside of Letterkenny.

For all he knew right now, he actually wasn't experiencing the world outside of Letterkenny at all, and might be in some sort of coma and this was all just some messed up dream, thanks for putting that little nugget in his brain, Nina, but at least that made more sense than your cooking.

Either way, potentially being stuck in a coma and plagued by weird fever dreams of pixels and weird contageious fish diseases and whatever else have you was no reason to not go to work and do your job. In fact, going to work and doing your job was a good way to try and get your mind off the idea that you might be potentially stuck in a coma and plagued by weird fever dreams, even if most of your work just consisted of moving things from here to here.

He was mostly just glad that his weird fever dreams could still involved at least a bit of chorin'.

It was so far a normal week. Totally fine. No big deal as far as Kitty had seen so far.

But the sushi had been a disappointment.

And for some reason Tino had brought a dinner of plain vegetarian California rolls to work.

"Do you do this stuff just to piss me off?" Kitty wondered.

Tino didn't answer.

The Perk, Tuesday morning

It was a pretty normal week - or at least, nothing was trying to kill them yet - so Miguel was going to take advantage of it.

Mostly by going out, getting a very large black coffee, and planting himself at the coffee shop with a plan to do mostly the same all day. Coffee, more coffee, and dicking about on his phone.

This place was supposed to be his low-key retreat.
