Furnado Animal Shelter; Thursday [08/22].

Because the two of them always had each other's backs, especially in matters such as this, Sidon agreed to cover Prompto's shift at the shelter that Thursday; he was pretty sure he owed Prompto a few shifts, anyway, but the two of them juggled their shifts so much it was a little difficult to keep track of sometimes. No matter, though! It was the animals who were important, and as long as they were being taken care of, that is what really mattered!

Since he had his own shift tomorrow, too, Sidon planned for another shelter sleepover, since that had worked out well for him the last time. Meanwhile, since he had two days to get all sorts of work done, he figured it might be a good day to tackle on the ever-needed task of cleaning those fishtanks!

Only to go and discover that they appeared to have been very recently cleaned! Sidon did not remember doing them himself in recent memory, so he shot off an astonished text to his coworker, asking if he had been the one to take it upon himself to pursue such a task.

The delay in the response was a bit worrisome; there was such a long pause that Sidon had nearly forgotten he'd messaged Prompto entirely until his phone buzzed with a confirming response.

Well, I must say, Sidon texted back, you've done an absolutely FABULOUS job! Some of the best fishtank cleaning I've ever seen! I am IMPRESSED, Prompto! Truly! Keep this up, and I fear I shall be entirely out of a job soon!

The next reply came after a bit of a pause, as well, but this one was must shorter: Nah, man, don't worry. Ur definitely good there XD XD XD

And, with that, Sidon went to figure out what else he could do around the shelter that would be helpful, and concluded that perhaps playing with kittens would be a marvelous idea!

Blackstone Foundry and Forge, Thursday

Fjord was perhaps holding his breath the tiniest bit as he made his way in to the forge this morning. It was going to be normal, right? He could stoke the fire and pull out one of his long-abandoned projects and get back to work, and that would be that?

He let himself exhale as he stepped inside and looked around.

Okay.

Hell yes.

Good. Perfect. Then he had a rapier in progress that he'd all but given up on back when the shop started changing every damn week, and he was going to settle in and see if he could remember what it was he'd done to get it to the point it was at now.

It was good to have Thursdays back to normal. There was just something about a Thursday.

Modern Earth Entertainment, Thursday

"Welcome back," Peter said. "It looks like we might have made it through this summer, and I'm glad to see everybody in one piece. We'll probably be doing this again next semester, though I was thinking of branching out, so let me know if there's anything about modern Earth you're interested in, okay?

"For tonight, we'll be watching a film that's considered very important for its time, and that's also about - eventually - coming home and relaxing, so I hope you all enjoy it."

He pressed play.

Trooper Station, Friday

There were cupcakes on his desk when Liam arrived at the station today.

Apology cupcakes, as it turned out. Ralph, it seemed, felt especially badly about that whole 'taking him to get executed' thing from last week. Though he'd assured Liam that no, these were from JGoB, he absolutely didn't bake them himself.

(He'd tried baking some himself. It hadn't gone well.)

"Thanks, I guess," Liam said, a little awkwardly, scrubbing absently at his neck. And wincing just a bit as he ended up rubbing up against the bandage that the turtleneck he was wearing didn't quite hide. "None of your business," he said, maybe a touch too sharply, at Ralph's curious look.
