Kanan had himself a proper pair of thumbs today, and so he was making his way in to the diner for his shift. Doing his rounds, making sure the rest of the staff was on the ball. And everything was fine until he got to checking up on the cook.

"... Guuuuuys? Why is the polar bear wearing an apron?"

Apparently he made a mean pancake. Kanan told them to get some hairnets on him, then.

Sparkle was at work today!

Sparkle was not getting much work done, mind.

Sparkle was trying to figure out what to do about the gremlin that had parked itself behind the counter. Was it demanding a job? Was it one of the radio gremlins? Did it just really want him to go back there so it could bite him?

Who could know?

After last week, Rey and her little notekeeping gremlin shadow seemed to have come to an understanding. Enough so that-

"Can you hand me that part right in front of you?" she asked as she worked. "I'll give you something shiny when I'm done."

And the gremlin immediately picked up the piece and scurried over so she could take the part from it with a minimal amount of nervousness, and then he went back to where he had been watching and let Rey get back to work.

The girl understood what a fair trade was.

It had been a surprisingly quiet day.

Quiet in a cypher sort of way, Owen meant. He spent some time that morning cleaning up a bit, broom in hand, but by afternoon laziness had struck and he'd take up lounging in the corner.

But it was quiet. His senses weren't even giving him much data on the weather.

"Sigh."

Yes, he just said the word 'sigh' out loud.

It was a Sunday, and Atton was behind the bar, on the phone with Mical roughly 25 percent of his shift. Arguing, loudly, about things that probably meant absolutely zero to anyone else.

"You're teaching them Niman as a basic-- it's Niman, Mical! They're going to grow up to stare at danger and run away from it--"

Or, half an hour later,

"No, I'm not going to come back to teach them permanently! Just because I'm criticizing your job doesn't mean I want your job!"

Or, an hour after that,

"Can you please tell Brianna to stop stealing my pants?!"
