The park- Friday afternoon

On Tuesday Rey had been tired of the quiet, especially having known one of her weekly things wasn't going to happen, but she'd decided it was fine, it didn't make sense to run back home when she had training on Friday. And then Kanan let her know couldn't make it to training today.

She had nothing against anyone else, but she was irritated with herself for waiting for no reason (she'd admit that was probably For Reasons), that there was more she should be doing, and if she wasn't training then she should be doing something to help the Resistance. She'd decided that she would call in and see if she was needed... and was told that they were working on some things, it was best to lay low and she should stay put right now.

So Rey went to the park anyway to run through forms with her staff, which was maybe her working through her frustration a little more aggressively than a Jedi really should. But then, she'd be the first to tell you she wasn't a Jedi.

The Perk, Friday afternoon

Octavia wasn't kidding about how quiet the town was without the students and teachers who were on the school trip. Duke had thought he'd enjoy that, but it quickly became eerie, and by Friday afternoon, he was getting a little twitchy, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

The baristas had managed to pumpkin-spice bomb his order again, but Duke didn't complain. Sitting in front of the Perk drinking the wrong coffee and watching the empty streets was still better than sitting on his boat, drinking through his alcohol stash, and trying not to remap exactly how the fight had gone for the umpteenth time. . . .
