died8yearsago: (cool with coffee)

Almost as soon as Rosa and Anna Pavlova walked through the door of the station, the dog took its first leap for an eagerly bounding run to go find the station cat, but Rosa was quick to stop her. She was expecting the pup to retreat into her old habits, and had brought her today to mostly see if the whole Russian thing was legit or just a fluke, a lingering aftermath of the weekend.

"Ah," she said, in a warning tone, just as the cat started to rear back at the dog's approach, but the dog did stop. "Anna. Stoy. Bud' milym."

And Anna Pavlova dropped dutifully to her belly, made only a small, playful sort of bite at the air in front of the cat (the cat lightly batted at Anna's muzzle with a paw), and then she rolled over, and the cat seemed to decided that yes, this was acceptable. Good job, passing an almost bored looking glance over at Rosa.

Who just sort of narrowed her eyes and shook her head at the cat, sarcastically and nonverbally thanking him for his blessing before getting settled behind her desk and getting to work and feeling incredibly glad it had turned out to be a quiet weekend after all.

She did notice, though, as the day went on, that it seemed like Ralph and Calvin both were trying to avoid her. She didn't know what that was all about, but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth and start questioning it. If only they could be like that every Monday.

So there was a holiday coming up in a few days, apparently. There’d been a slight uptick in the number of NPC clients who’d been coming in today, and from what the personal trainer told Beau, a few people were under the impression that they could get a head start on working off whatever they were going to gain from all the food they’d be eating on Thursday.

Beau shook her head and mouthed what the fuck?

“Yeah, it — it doesn’t work that way, but sure, whatever.”

The trainer just shrugged and gave her a look that said ‘what can you do?’

And she really had no answer for that, so ... she just went over to check the punching bags for any damage she might have to get repaired. Or put on Liam’s tab.

[OOC: Post open! SP likely but hey.]

"Right," Miguel said, "So apparently disaster movies are a thing. You wouldn't think they'd be big on an island as big a disaster as this, but whatever. They were really big in the 1970s, and the one that really started it is called Airport. It's based off a book, and it's all about a guy trying to bring down an airplane. Should be nice and violent." Yeah, he'd figured out his audience.

"So anyway, here it is."

Enjoy what was... definitely not that movie.

Nell was used to listening to the flowers, but she wasn't so much used to listening listening to them.

Who knew peonies were such gossips?

She might have guessed the red roses were a bit narcissistic, but she never would have guessed that the daisies could be so mean spirited - and even bullies. She ended up needing to put them in a separate refrigerator because they kept picking on the poor sweet peas. Well, she supposed common is as common does.
