So the Santa hats were stuck--both on Steve and on the corgi puppy he was getting dragged along behind--and the weather was damp and kind of gross, but at least his new sweater was doing a great job in keeping him cozy.

He took Patriot down by the pond to make friends with the ducks and stuffed his hands into the pockets of his coat to stay warm.

He'd take damp cold over snow any day, but Steve and the cold in general just didn't get along. Something about the North Atlantic for a few decades...

"Right, so the gremlins are insisting on holiday movies," Miguel said, giving said gremlins a dirty look and pushing his Santa hat out of his eyes again. They bared their teeth at him and he held up his hands. "But the sort of thing that's usually a holiday movie is a lot of mush and corny happy endings, and I know that probably isn't the sort of thing you want, so I found this instead. I have no idea if it's any good. Enjoy."

He'd be over on the wall. Yes, on it. He wasn't taking chances with the gremlins.

Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

There were piles of Santa hats kicked under tables and into corners. No matter how many times Nell decided that she was just going to leave the newest hat on and ignore it, sooner or later she'd reach up to tuck in a loose strand of hair or run a hand over her forehead and there was another hat on the floor and a new one on her head.

Nell had had just about enough of this silliness.
