Rosa figured she'd probably be in and out of the station a lot that day, but she also figured she'd make for a more reliable contact point if anyone came in with information or anything like that over the troopers. So she was mostly there, and, in the time that she was, she was mostly going over radio broadcasts and the information she'd gleaned while canvassing yesterday, hoping to put together some sort of rough list and timeline of who had disappeared, when they'd disappeared, and where.

The whole thing was a major headache and the gaps in everything were substantial, but she figured, if she could manage to at least draw a few helpful lines here and there, it was still something, but, considering the resources of the island and the general resourcefulness of the people who lived here, they'd probably have something useful soon.

Nina's note, unlike herself, held nothing of her massive, mighty sulk over the fact that mass-kidnapping had ruined the first day of classes.

Greetings compatriots, country folk, and villains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alas, due to the unfortunate felicitations of this new semester we must begin on a note that is terribly out of tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We shall reconvene next week to counter the terrible wiles of Lord Flatcake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yours in truth, in love, in bravery,

Nina Argentum

[LOL Nina is so sad her first class is cancelled. SO SAD.]

Well, teal deer don't throw themselves down volcanoes, after all, so Krampus was back on Fandom, growing increasingly, murderously, annoyed that the holiday decorations were coming down, rather than going up. These people had no respect for tradition.

That Krampus couldn't read a calendar was entirely beside the point.

He stomped into the Preserve, heedless of the goat-like hoofprints he was leaving behind, then snarled to his small squad of deranged Christmas toys, who then swarmed a small of teal deer.

The bones and...other bits...they left behind were deeply unsettling, but at least there was another meal for the prisoners, too.

Just slightly gnawed on. The nutcracker in particular had been hard to control.

[OOC: Krampus is not for interaction, but his hoofprints and what's left of the deer are totally findable!]

Nell was a bit pensive today, wondering about the missing students and wondering where they might be. And what she might be able to do to help.

The plants seemed to sense her mood and would occasionally lean in her direction as she went by , trying to give her a gentle touch to say they were with her.

Right now, Octavia's homebase was the Cape Rouge. Someone needed to look after Lucy, right? And neither of them were great at cooking (in fact, one of them was outright banned from using the stove), so Octavia had set up food deliveries from town. Big portions, three times a day, until she'd tell them otherwise. Handling that had been something specific and concrete Octavia had been actually able to do to help things, to help someone, but whatever relief she'd gained from it was already gone.

The fact remained that there was nothing to fight.

There was nothing to fight.

And yet Octavia was walking the streets with her sword strapped to her back, because she didn't know what else to do. She was no good at research, and couldn't use her tracking skills to find people who'd disappeared into thin air. The last time this had happened to her, the way she'd fixed things had been to take a clan's healer hostage and then recklessly use him as a bargaining chip until Lincoln had been returned to her.

The same white-hot anger that had let her barge into Indra's camp yelling 'Ai laik Okteivia kom Skaikru and you have something I want!' was building itself up this time, too, but the difference was that there was nothing to barge into recklessly, here. No bargaining chip to be found, no direct danger to throw herself into, and no one whose life she could threaten in exchange for Duke's safe return.

There was nothing to do but to wait until the people with the books figured something out.

And so she walked.

[ooc: Open! If angry.]
