Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [01/15]..
Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 05:20 amAnd so it was revealed to Shunsui that perhaps his plans of having Summer-chan get all the ordering out of the way on Mondays wasn't such a good idea, anyway, because that meant that the bulk of what she ordered arrived to be put away on Wednesdays. But Shunsui was convinced he could find a way to work around not having to actually put any of it away.
Being this lazy took some hard work, you know.
"We'll just leave it for Janet-chan on Saturday ♥," he suggested, when discussing the matter with Apu. "It'll be good for her to have the experience and the practice and something to do ♥."
Ah, but a lot of the items were perishables and needed to be taken care of right away.
"Well," Shunsui mused, "it isn't like the cheese panda is doing anything productive right now, neh ♥?"
The cheese panda was not going to put away the milk and eggs. And neither was the turtle. Or the canary.
"I don't see why you can't just do it, Apu-san," Shunsui countered witheringly.
Apu-san was trying to prove a point here, and met that suggestion with a look of contempt proportional to the amount of things he was already doing that day, which was to say, a lot.
But Shunsui met that with a cool, calculating sort of look, before lifting a brow and having a sip of the sake he'd been enjoying through the whole discussion. "Tell me, Apu-san," he drawled. "When was the last time you had....a vacation?"
The words struck as dee as if Shunsui had cut Apu with one of his swords. No. Not that. Anything but that! He...wouldn't. He....couldn't! Could he? Apu didn't know, but he also didn't want to find out, so, begrudgingly but shaken by the threat of a forced vacation, he went to go put away the order.
And Shunsui, satisfied, settled back comfortably behind the counter, settled back with his sake and got back to the pretense of lesson plans and novel plotting, despite the complete lack of any plans or manuscript within sight.
