Of course, Shunsui came into the shop that day expecting for there to have been orders that came in, but he wasn't quite expecting there to be so many orders of a specific kind

"Apu-san? Why are there so many boots?"

But, really, Shunsui didn't need to ask. He even knew that this wasn't even an example of the store being the store with its propensity to get a little over-zealous on ordering certain things, because it was hard to ignore a certain...style, color palette, and aesthetic to these particular boots.

Yes, Summer may have said on radio last week that if there was still copious amounts of chocolate vodka in the bar come Wednesday, she'd go all Boston on it and throw it into the ocean, but she was just in too good of a mood to care, because she had herself a plethora of adorable new boots that she'd picked out herself and had gotten reduced even beyond her employee discount by ordering so many that, clearly, Shunsui had no choice but to mark them down even more just to try to get rid of them.

She honestly wasn't expecting so generous of a discount, but she was not about to complain!

So she was in a particularly good mood that evening, prancing around in what were clear the cutest but most impractical pair of the bunch, showing them off at every chance she got.

And, sure, sure. Some of that money could have gone toward refurnishing her apartment or investing because she'd blown up just about everything she had not too long ago, but come on! A swindle this good had to be taken for all it was worth!

Save for a few little orders here and there, Amaya was facing another week without too many projects to keep herself busy, which was a faintly distressing state of affairs. But, she figured, if anything, she could distract herself pretty easily with something else. It had been a while since she'd put together some ridiculous new showpiece for the weapons wall, after all.

Now the real question was, what kind of piece should it be? She considered, for a moment, her materia generator and the materia she'd been using to experiment a bit with the bits of vibranium Shuri had given her, and that just made her think that something as impressive as a materia-vibranium hybrid clearly needed a weapon just as impressive to fit into!

Which was why Amaya was deciding to go about trying to forge a blade just as big as she was today.

It would, if anything, certainly keep her busy, and that alone would be worth its weight in gold.

...which would, after all, be a lot of gold. Because it was big. And heavy. And brilliant.

The Perk, Wednesday Afternoon

Nina was on a quest! An official quest, even! From her class!

And, since, like it was a quest that got her out of class (which was kind of tragic, honestly) and she'd spent all of yesterday trapped in her room…

Nina settled herself at the Perk with a tea (knowing good and well that both Seivarden and Tisarwat would consider this tea a terrible life choice and they weren't wrong, ugh, maybe she'd go buy a hot chocolate or something…) and a muffin (which tasted much better than her tea) and contemplated her options.

She had to go and learn something.

She had a week.

Nina considered her options. Did she, like, want to go out and learn something useful? Or did she want to go and consult Google and see what it thought the most pointless skill to learn would be… and learn that?

Honestly, she was a little frightened of Googling that question. And yet…
