Covent Garden Flowers; Tuesday [10/20].
Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 04:22 amAstrid had started out her morning with some drawing, sketching out scenes remnicent of medieval depictions of the danse macabre in the spirit of parties for fifteen-foot-tall skeletons, but she didn't get very far on those before memories of the knots of Claire's spine along her back, when she'd turn over as they draped themselves in cold jewels in her bedroom slipped in. On how you could count them, how they would support a gem between them if she positioned herself just right. The hollowness of her cheeks, her eyes. And Astrid's pencil stopped, she reminded herself to breathe, she pushed her sketchbook aside and turned her focus onto fall wreathes instead. Autumnal centerpieces. Trying to find clever ways to sneak all the little pumpkins that fell out of the drawer whenever she opened it into various floral arrangements, though they'd probably be gone by tomorrow.
And back to drawing, putting little faces on the pumpkins with a black marker, and wishing for once there were actually more customers for this place than there usually was.
Covent Garden is open!
