Diego had noticed the plaques when he came into work today. How couldn't he? He was surprised to find he actually had one, though a frown quickly followed when he read it.

"Most Improved, what the hell does that mean?" It didn't help there was a little umbrella etched into it either. It felt like his father was mocking him.

At least his name was spelled right.

Covent Garden Flowers, Saturday

When she opened the door to the flower shop, Lucille realised that it had turned into a flower dance class. The tulips were working on a choreography, the bonsai were doing some warmup stretching and the lilies were doing something that looked very improvised while floating in the air. And there was annoying dance music, coming from nowhere.

No actually, it was coming from the record player in the corner, which hadn't been there before.

Lucille dashed through the shop, dodging flowers and bonsais, and fumbled to turn off the music. As the turntable stopped, so did the plants. They quickly returned to their usual places, looking almost ashamed, and left Lucille standing with the record in her hands. She turned it around. Unlabeled, on both sides. There was a black sleeve on the floor and Lucille slipped the record into it and stowed it away in the bottom drawer.

So, she had been thinking about getting something to play music. Now, the question was, had it been the music or the record player that had caused the dance show? And would she be allowed to keep it? Either way, she should talk to Tisarwat about it.

Today was a surprisingly normal day on the island. Miguel wasn't sure he trusted it.

Still, he was going to make the best of it that he could.

A roar sounded from the freezer, and the dishwasher raced out, slamming the door behind him. He looked around, wide-eyed. "Just thought I'd clean out the meat lockers."

"Told you the bears are fussy today," the cook said.

The Perk, Saturday Afternoon

Yesterday morning had included a hangover compensated by a tasty breakfast thanks to her roommate. Last night Ignis had cooked a delicious dinner, and Seivarden felt oddly proud over her success in chopping meat. Not so much of the task itself - it would have been hard to make it completely inedible - but because she could picture the hint of approval it would have got her. Or maybe it had just been the company, and having Ignis give her orders in the kitchen, and scold her for spoiling the cat.

In any case, she was in a better mood than she had been, and the baristas seemed to have a good day too for some reason, since they served her the loose leaf tea she ordered along with an apple cake, and they didn't even roll their eyes about the gloves.

She found a table by the window, sipped her tea, and began scrolling through her Instagram feed, which had quickly filled up with cute cat photos, tea and drink recipes.

Hey, look who wasn't a god damn turtle this weekend! So Jaye could show up for her first real shift, which she was actually supposed to do a while ago, but let's face it, she had a terrible work ethic.

"We still doing the daiquiri thing?" she asked.

Tino answered that by pouring a shot of raspberry daiquiri.

"Awesome, easy night for me."
