Having to finally legitimately teach his class yesterday meant that Shunsui felt he had firmly met (and surpassed, even!) his quote for 'work' for this week...possibly even for this month!...so it was definitely with that spirit that he was just going to lean his elbow on the counter and just sort of watch as Apu-san went about his obsession for that day, knowing full well that it would be too much extra work to bother stopping him or finding out exactly what he was doing.

But for those interested, it seemed as though he was laying down water slides in various aisles, pulling out a few hoses, and taking advantage of the fact that the floor was now slightly sloped thanks to various flooding events over the years, all for the sake of giving a proper nod to celebrating what was apparently National Waterpark Day.

And honestly? The man always did clean up after himself at the end of the day, so what was the harm, really? And, in a way, watching his go about his mostly failed attempts to transform the store into something it really wasn't was kind of fascinating, really, if entirely exhausting.

Besides, the turtle was having an absolute field day with it, and who wouldn't love that?

Astrid had a working theory that whoever had delivered the small set of what appeared to be cactus armchairs to the store that morning had either gotten really confused, or, feeling uncertain whether or not the chairs in question belonged in a furniture store or a flower shop, saw there was no furniture store on the island and went with the only remaining option.

Unfortunately, they'd been left in kind of an awkward spot, sort of in the way, and that was a problem because they weren't exactly the easiest things to move, not necessarily because of weight but just because good luck actually managing to get a good, unprickly grip on a chair covered in cacti...

Astrid ultimately decided she didn't get paid enought to deal with figuring out what to do with the cactus chairs, although she did, out of her own amusement if anyone took her up on it, make a sign to put on the chairs that read: Free if You Can Sit Here for Five Full Minutes

She didn't suspect anyone would actually want to buy them legitimately anyway.

After getting a load of what Summer had put together for her jello shot theme that evening, all Tino could do was complain about how it wasn't fair that apparently Summer wasn't being banned from the Olympics, but he was.

"Yeah," said Summer, "I'm pretty sure there's a big difference between thematic jello and shotputting from the karaoke stage, Tino."

Maybe she could just convince him to pole-vault himself right into the trash or something, though.

Dite's Decadent Delights | Wednesday

Well, Irene had been living above the shop for two days now (and she definitely needed to go furniture shopping -- oh no, how sad, an excuse to spend money) and had begun an inventory yesterday, but Wednesday found her actually moving around the shop and changing a few of the displays.

She propped the door open with one of the heavier things in the store to get a little bit of a breeze going as she worked, positioning condoms near the register and trying to find the exactly right discreet way to display the bondage gear so that any students who came in wouldn't immediately flee in terror.

It had always been something of a problem in the past, she remembered.
