Furnado Animal Shelter; Friday [07/01].

When his various tasks around the shelter had lead him that way, Sidon found a note taped up to the frog tank, as well as a small flyer for some sort of club, and no frogs inside. It would seem that their ever-growing frog band had managed to get a gig off the island somewhere, and the note was to let him know. He was maybe a touch disappointed that the frog hadn't invited him to go see them perform, but he was still very happy and proud of their success in landing a gig in the first place. Those frogs could really be going places!

He did see it as an excellent opportunity to give their tank a good cleaning, though, which, naturally, just lead into today being a tank cleaning day in general, but it was fairly overdue, now that he'd been spending far less time in the tanks these days for himself.

After having spent some time pouring through as many of the TTRPG books as he could, supplemented by some of the things he'd picked up last weekend for Free RPG Day, Graham's little nugget of an idea had grown into a full-fledged determination that he really did want to try something like this. He was still a little uncertain about the details and how it really worked, though, so, today, in his downtime at the shop, he was going to try and run a practice game, with Triumph and Little Bot and Saffron.

To anyone else, the whole thing could categorically be called a disaster, but Graham seemed to be thinking it was going surprisingly well. A little slow going, sure, on account of the fact that one player kept drifting off to clean things, another player was far more invested in sunspots (they just had to keep moving the set-up to correspond with the light coming into the store), and the other kept having to be reminded that dice were for rolling, not eating.

But Graham was determined, and Graham was patient. Far more patient than Triumph, however, who kept squeaking out protests as they waited to see what their rogue would do during her turn against the goblin encounter they'd managed to wander into.

"Now, now," said Graham, holding out a hand to placate Triumph, "give her time. I'm sure she'll know exactly what to do after she finishes with her nap."

Spoiler alert: she would not.

It was Dominion Day, and Watts was working. Not that he seemed particularly bothered by the situation: on the contrary, throughout his career he was usually the one who volunteered for the holiday shift, having no family or friends to speak of to spend it with. On top of that, he was in a completely different country, whose holiday was on the other side of the weekend. And on top of that, there was a certain conversation he'd had yesterday that had gone exceptionally well, and so yes. Good mood. Great mood even.

Also, "working" was a bit of a relative term. One other thing he'd handwavily done yesterday was finally acquire a mobile phone. And promptly discover the joy of streaming music.

Though not, it should be noted, headphones. Ooops.
