Turtle & Canary; Monday [08/15].

(Mostly) recovered from her hangover from a weekend of a....lot of drinking, Summer came into the shop that day fully intent on busting out her inventory walk and her ordering and completely ignoring Apu's cowboy get-up and the fact that he was definitely trying to lasso in the cheese panda.

Which, to her credit, she did accomplish for a good portion of the day, until she went back behind the register and took a moment to check her phone. Which lead to a few texts, and then a little dip into what was going on in Annie's world after that whole Homelander live-rant, figuring the weekend would have provided a nice...buffer of perspective, and...

...oh no.

And now she was definitely locked into total doomscrolling mode, but what had she expected, honestly? And she kept telling herself she'd stop and get back to work, right after this next post, but everyone knew that wasn't how this worked, RIP productivity!

Eh. She was pretty sure everyone would survive just fine if all the blue milk came in on Wednesday instead of tomorrow.

Furnado Animal Shelter; Monday [08/15].

A new postcard had arrived from the traveling frog band, which was kind of a relief, if Sakaki was honest. They hadn't sent anything for a while, so she was a little worried that something had happened to them, but it looked as though they were fine, they just got distracted by the Great Lakes when they went up to Chicago (which was where the postcard was from) and they were now trying to put together a sort of blues set. Sakaki didn't really know much about music, though, so she was just glad they were safe and doing well and added the postcard to the board (which had been cleaned up nicely and smartly by Sidon, and she did not plan to touch it beyond adding postcards, because she's probably only make it terrible again).

Then she got to work, but she was a little distracted, still wondering if she should plan a trip home before the start of the next semester. It would be nice to see everyone, and Chiyo-chan had said something about everyone taking a trip Okinawa, which did sound like it could be a lot of fun.... And of course Chiyo-chan offered to help cover some of the cost of it for her, which was very nice of her, but then Sakaki would feel bad about taking her up on it...

She had some time to decide, at least, but it definitely had her distracted throughout the day, even when the cats were doing something particularly cute that would have usually snapped her attention right up.

Fandom Museum- Monday

 Connor was having a bit of a day at the Museum that day.  He had spent much ft he weekend relaxing in his flat, watching videos online. Most of them ended up being funny cat and dog videos.  It had seemed like a good way to spend unwinding and relaxing with Rex.  But it seemed Rex had been paying a bit more attention than Connor had realized.

Now Rex weas running around the lobby chasing a ball and trying to mimic the dogs and cats he had seen in the videos. The pile of shredded newspaper swept into the corner was evident of how good his attempt at fetching the paper had gone. Connor sighed and rubbed his head.

"Just don't break anything mate, ok?" he said with a slightly exasperated tone. 

Maybe he should start his own video channel for Rex?

So Steve had chocolate pudding in his hair and just a world of regrets about the last paintball class.

He was working on a rough draft for he and Danny's island-wide Labor Day beach cook-out and was heading towards the fire station to ask if, in their professional opinion, a bonfire entirely of Shenanigan t-shirts would give everyone cancer in a decade when he spotted the sign:



"I am not dealing with this," he told the world at large and went back to hide at his desk.

The Trooper Station was open and befuddled.

Eric was at the bar tonight, enjoying a Manhattan expertly poured by Tiny and relaxing.

Tiny was creating an elaborate three-dimensional castle made entirely out of cocktail olives in a cabinet under the bar.

Eric was very much ignoring that.

The mood in the store was radically different to Vi's last few shifts, Little Bot tootling across a remarkably pine cone free floor behind her as she tidied and moved stock around, whistling tunelessly all the while, broad grin on her face.

Saffron however, did not seem to be feeling this new, improved vibe, seeing how she was dramatically throwing herself in Vi's path with a pathetic meow every few minutes so she could be picked up and paid attention to. Couldn't Vi see how she was suffering?
