Just as Summer had predicted, the Squishy machine had, in fact, reverted back to a Squishy machine, and the music being played on the speakers that day was all opera, leaving Shunsui very pleased and content that he didn't have to deal with transforming equipment and he actually found opera quite lovely. It was particularly nice to enjoy, after all, when lazing about behind a check-out counter with a few cups of sake.

It was a little less pleasant when Apu-san took it upon himself to sing along with a few of them, even worse when the cheese panda decided to join in, but, eventually, they got distracted with a rousing game of Opera or Cheese? that allowed Shunsui to save his eardrums a little bit.

And if they started up again, he'd just take a nap.

He'd napped through far worse, believe it or not.

Don't ask exactly how Summer managed to foist koala-Stark onto Tino. The important part was that she had, she was feeling very proud of herself, and she was giving both of them a very wide breadth to avoid having the koala foisted back on her until the end of the night.

She would absolutely subject koala-Stark to Tino for the duration of the evening so that she could better do her job, but she would never actually subject the poor guy to having to deal with Tino for any longer than that. She liked Stark, after all. But she also liked not having a koala clinging to her at all times, too.

She did, however, have some duct tape ready for the inevitable moment when Tino tried to foist Stark on the zombies and they found out why that wasn't going to go over very well.

Nancy was in the office today when something exciting happened! Or, at least, something she knew how to handle: the phone rang.

Of course, given Nancy's luck, it wasn't anything real.

"Okay, I've got a pen," she promised the person on the other end. "What was it you wanted us to investigate?"

She wrote the dictated direction down carefully, all the way on the last word before it caught up to her. "Is -- my -- refrigerator -- run....oh, come on. That was an old joke in 1986!"

Nancy hung up the phone with a roll of her eyes and an irritated huff.

...and then went to investigate the fridge, a few minutes later. Around here, she figured she couldn't be too careful.

Dite's Decadent Delights | Wednesday

Nearly everything was set for Friday's party -- the tables were dressed in red cloths and decorated, and the displays were, for the most part, fully set up. Amaya's metallic roses and vinework would be forthcoming, of course, and Irene needed to double-check her order for fresh flowers, as well. Save for a few last-minute touches -- the more over-the-top decorations, the bar and refreshment tables, literature Irene felt might be useful at such a party -- they were just about set.

So that left Irene without much to do but harass her tailor via text to make sure that her outfit was ready for Friday, as well. Sure, of course she could turn out in any random red or pink dress from her closet, but please. Wearing last year's de la Renta was basically like wearing a bin bag, thank you.

There was a porg at the club.

Octavia did not know where it had come from. All she knew was she'd turned to get something from the shelves, and when she'd turned back around, it'd been there, standing on the bar, making its typical porg noises at her.

And then promptly knocking over a small thing of peanuts.

Guess this was going to be Octavia's evening, now.

“This week we’re going to be look at the brachiosaur ,” Cutter began that week’s lecture, without mentioning anything about last week’s emergency that had seen him not be able to help teach last week’s class, “the brachiosaur lived in the late Jurassic Period and the early Cretaceous Period,” he explained, “remains of the brachiosaur have been found in Africa, North America and Europe,” he nodded at Connor to continue the lecture.

"While it is one of the most popular and widely recognized of the herbivorous dinosaurs, brachiosaurs still present a mystery in many areas for scientists and paleontologists alike," Connor said as he gave Cutter a nod. "It is believed they could lift their long necks up to 12 metres (39 feet) above the ground in order to eat the tender leaves at the tops of trees. Their adult size was nearly 25 metres, and a weight of nearly 80 metric tons. They had surprisingly small teeth and scientists are still debating how exactly they collected, chewed, swallowed, and digested their vegetative diet." And with a glance over to Cutter, Connor wrapped up with one final point before handing the lecture back over to his partner in crime. "Considering their impressive size and the believed low nutrition value of their leafy diets, these huge reptiles likely spent all of their waking hours eating as much as they could."

Cutter nodded back once Connor had finished, “we would like you to finish working on your activity sheets for this lesson and then for next week, we want you to prepare a report on the Brachiosaurus,”
