Today was a pretty exciting day for the gym. The Cup Noodle^TM vending machine for the lobby that Gladio had ordered was arriving that morning!

Of course, the machine that did show up was....not exactly what he had been expecting.

In fact, what had shown up was even better.

He really did love a challenge, after all, and Cup Noodle^TM tasted even better when you've earned it! And how could you just not be a little happier, even knowing that such things existed?

Maybe this world wasn't quite so bad after all, really.

Furnado Animal Shelter; Tuesday [05/23].

The shelter had just gotten a shipment of some new and exciting interactive toy for cats that day, and, Sidon felt, perhaps not a moment too soon! He couldn't help but feel like perhaps the felines of the shelter, in particular, were missing having Sakaki around. She was always so good and attentative to them! And, of course, Sidon had his feline fans, as well, always stalking him around the shelter and finding high shelves to climb on in attempts to pounce on him, but there was really a big gap in their days without her around, and he was hoping they'd find some excitement and engagement in some new toys, so he opened one up and set it out for them to play with.

And, in true fashion with anything actually designed to entertain cats, they maybe spent about three seconds sniffting and examining it, maybe gave it a few bats and tried, and then resolutely ignored it for the rest of the day.

They did seem to rather like the box, though!

Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Tuesday [05/23]..

Amaya was sighing at her phone an awful lot that day, mostly because of the messages from Summer reporting on how the new Squishy machine was doing and that it seemed to still have a Red problem, despite her best efforts to fix it with the new prototype. Which meant she was spending a lot of time trying to decide if she was going to try to scratch that itch to keep trying to fix it, or if even she had enough common sense to know that down that path lead only frustration and disappointment, and that sometimes, you really did just have to let things be.

Everything else seemed to be working pretty great, after all, which was no small accomplishment! Sure, she'd worked on the Squishy machine plenty over the years, but there was a certain satisfaction in knowing you'd pretty much mastered a technology you would have never been able to dream of not too long ago.

All except that blasted re--

--no. No. She was not going to think about it, she was just going to accept as some immutable part of nature that could not be changed, and she should just leave it be--

Diaz & Ass., Tuesday

Arthur, there are some long, sharp, metal sticks on the desk.

"Sticks? Where?"

Left. Here. He picked one up and held it out so Arthur could feel it.

"They feel like..." Arthur frowned in thought as he felt to the end. "Oh! These must be the knitting needles Detective Diaz has been using."

They don't look like needles, John said doubtfully.

"No, well, they don't until they start getting really small and thin. Odd; I'd have expected her to go for those - they're sharp enough to do real damage. These aren't really sharp, nor are they hefty enough to do blunt damage."

What do you do with them, then?

"Well, they're knitting needles. You knit."

Huh. Do you knit, Arthur?

Arthur laughed. "Oh, it's been ages since I learned. And it'd be a bit hard with one hand and no eyes. Although we did manage the computer. Is there any yarn around?"

I don't see any. Just the needles.

"Hm...Oh! We should have twine for packages. That'll do."

They searched for a bit, until finally coming up with a ball of it.

"Right. Now let me see if I can remember how."

This would be an interesting day.

But the Ass. was in! If he could get untangled.

Tuesday: Plant Parenthood

Today meant only one more day before she could check her hive and see if the queen had been laying eggs. Okay, maybe Nell was the only one excited about that, but she was allowed.

In any case, she was here at the store, puttering around and happy to help out anyone who might stop by to buy something or just for a chat!

The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

Tiny was apparently whittling cards out of carrots and eggplants by the bar. Lucifer wasn't paying attention to it, nor did he care.

He was still in a beautiful mood after the weekend. He was hardly going to let Tiny ruin it.
