Summer had gotten a bit better about just accepting it and not being immediately suspicious when she came in for her bar shift to find that everything was honestly pretty average and normal and nothing weird was happening. The zombies all seemed to be in good shape, and there was probably eventually going to be some absolutely ridiculous thing coming out of Tino's mouth at some point that would leave Summer properly offended and/or disgusted, but he was mostly just tending to his usual work, with a comment or two about how her theme made him miss the Waffle House and a discussion about how much they both actually appreciated how the thing had sort of turned into sort of mythological hero figure that shows up exactly when they needed him, and then Summer got to complain about how it sucked for her, though, because those times so far seemed to be exactly when she couldn't actually make it.

One of these days, randomly appearing Waffle House. One of these days!

But, for this day, it was just a regular bar night without anything too weird, and instead of being nervous about that sort of thing, Summer was just happen to embrace it.

Prompto didn't know who was responsible for it (the vet vehemently denied having anything to do with it, but he wasn't quite sure he entirely believed her), but someone or something had dressed up all the gerbils and hamsters and Guinea pigs in the shelter in bee costumes.

It was honestly hard to tell who was more excited about this discovery, Noctra or Prompto himself.

Either way, you'd better believe that the two of them would be dragging out some of the honeycomb cat trees and setting them up and letting the bee-rodents go wild in them, and Prompto was definitely taking pictures to send to Nell in case she needed any new ideas regarding her own bees.

So yesterday Kamala's training schedule was focused on strength building. Today was cardio day.

Which meant running. Lots of running.

"Why are there so many stairs?" she groaned. "So. Many. Stairs."

Technically it was more of a slow jog/fast walk at this point.

She was a few days late doing this, but Steph was just going to blame her player the half dozen projects she'd had going for the past couple of weeks for what she privately thought of as a serious lapse on her part.

Anyway, the posters brightly colored and adorned with little ribbon flags within an inch of their lives and read:

Hell yeah hell yeah it's back:

Look, of course there were dice (bouncy and click-clack-y!) and dice trays in various Pride flag palettes in the store, and of course the display minis were already arranged in a tiny parade formation. Of course there was a huge flag on display in the front window, and freshly made posters advertising the upcoming Fandom Pride weekend. But Steph had also put up all the posters and parade signs she'd ever collected from Portland and Seattle Pride and an informational display, plus a big plaque of a QR code that linked to a useful page of queer history resources.

(Yes, at the bottom of the plaque it said "scan the QueeR code to learn more!" Of course it did.)

And there was, like she'd always had by the Record Traders register back in Haven Springs, a dish full of buttons labeled Take One! A good chunk of them were geek themed, naturally; others were just simple flag stripes, or had pithy and sometimes cheesy quotes. A number were handmade, even, with slogans scrawled in black Sharpie, and those were... a little on the in-your-face side. Most of those had been in Steph's collection for years, made by Chloe in their Arcadia Bay days, and people tended to be a little uncertain about taking those.

If some of them looked like they'd been painted by gremlins that was because there were several gremlins seated next to a box of blank buttons in the mini-painting area, carefully maneuvering a paintbrush as a group. Hey, if they wanted to contribute what was Steph going to do, stop them?

Nah. She was trying to come up with a t-shirt design for the festival, and 'gremlin-bitten' really wasn't the style she was going for.
