Naturally, the store was all decked out in red and white today, and you just know there was a shit ton of blue waiting in the back room to be haphazardly added to it in a couple of days. And while Summer came in that morning expecting to be confronted with a display of maple syrup, Canadian bacon, and all-dressed chips, she was, instead, met with postal stamps.

"While I applaud your efforts to move away from the obvious, Apu," she stated after she considered this, "this feels a little like a conflict of interest."

But Apu just shrugged, and so Summer just shrugged, too, and went about her work, and only realized way too late that the sound system was only playing reggae.

There were customers in the store today. Plural. Liliana didn't approve of this turn of events at all and, in fact, blamed Dean for this entirely. She wasn't sure how he had made this happen, but somehow and some way, he was responsible.

Anyway, being a shopkeep for real was truly a terrible and trying experience. Someone always needed help with something, or had questions, or wanted to be walked through how an artifact worked just as someone else wanted to be rung out. (Oh, Liliana was more than happy to leave some of these people wrung out, that's for damn sure.) Eventually, she just put the haunted armor on the cash register, and prowled around making sure nobody broke anything, moved anything, or stole anything.

"I see I'm going to need a new sign," she said, conversationally, to the young would-be thief shed caught trying to walk off with a prism ring. "Shoplifters will be fed to the chair."

And, of course, one of the things that would make the day better - teaching the thief a lesson he'd never forget, assuming he survived with his faculties intact - was completely off-limits on this miserable little island.

The Beach By The Boardwalk, Monday Afternoon

It was the first day of break and Arden was going to spend it the way the goddess had intended it: out on the beach with the salt and the sea and the sun and the sand, sorry Anakin. She was sprawled out on a blanket with a towel or two next to her and a cooler of drinks and snacks. She had a book with her for later, but right now she was enjoying the warmth while sending out a text to all the usual suspects (and a few new ones for good measure) inviting them to come and spend the day out on the beach with her.

So she was currently documenting a "Lessons Learned" for the catering group that in no way shape or form blamed anyone.

It was July, which meant it was time to take down the decorations from the last month. Not like, all of them, but the sheer amount of rainbows in the store were going from omnipresent down to abundant. Especially since Vi was gathering up all the pinecones to stash them away until next year.

Little Bot and Saffron were keeping their new paint-job and collar though.
