hasaknightjob: Steven gift shop (Steven gift shop)
[personal profile] hasaknightjob
Steven was at work on time and in a good mood. There wasn't a great deal to catch up on, so when he wasn't helping the occasional visitor find what they needed he took time to sneak looks at his phone as he researched what to make for lunch tomorrow.

Yes, technically not working but he did get breaks! He was just spacing them out over the course of the day is all. To take care of an important task. Like figuring out a lunch that would keep well while he and Llewellyn were in Stark's class.

Steven also multi-tasked this with fretting about whether taking a class would put too much strain on his and Marc's schedule. But he tried to remind himself he could always change his mind as needed.

It didn't do much good, but he did try.

In the meanwhile, he was at the Welcome Desk for anyone who had need of him.

Steph wasn't much of a sculptor, by which she meant 'not even a little bit of one at all.' But when she went to get out her markers to write up blurbs for the latest game recommendations and discovered that a dozen or so bricks of polymer modeling clay turned up in her art supply drawer, what else was she supposed to do but try and make something with them? And she had been toying with the idea of finding some sort of figure to set up for a (mostly!) playful resident dice-blessing altar, so...

That was why Steph was sitting at the counter with her phone propped up against the register, playing tutorial videos on how to work with the stuff while she poked and prodded at it, the tip of her tongue poking out of the corner of her slightly scowling mouth in concentration.

It was... going, she'd say that much. Not well, but hey, it looked vaguely like some kind of creature so far!

[OOC: Look, don't ask me, okay? IDK. Open!]

One good thing about not being able to read what was on the shipments of new t-shirts that came in was that Boc couldn't realize just how terribly thematic and thematic and sometimes weirdly specific they all were.

He did, however, wonder why he felt a sudden craving for things with cinnamon and nutmeg in them, and he was also greatly disappointed to discover that the pumpkins that had apparently popped up around the store for decoration were, in fact, not real at all, and now he was also craving that, to the point of near-distraction as he worked on some of his sewing on the counter as usual.

Yelena had arrived at her shift Stark Industries with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. It was probably a good thing she ran into Don last week and got the details on who lived here. Running into an Avenger who was either dead or living on the moon in her reality would probably have resulted in some drama she really didn't want to start.

She'd always been more comfortable in the field than in a corporate environment, but she was determined to make this work. The first thing she did was find the security office, taking note of the surveillance equipment and layout. She knew the importance of understanding the terrain, even if this terrain happened to be a corporate building. After a quick scan of the room, she made herself comfortable in a corner, her eyes focused on the monitors, watching people come and go.

She’d been briefed on her role at the office. Keep things secure, keep an eye out for anything unusual, and report if needed. It wasn't too different from other security jobs she'd done, except now there were fancy gadgets and tech support just a call away. Yelena spent the morning familiarizing herself with the new systems, not trusting anyone else’s word for how they worked. If something went wrong, she wanted to know exactly how to fix it herself.

And now she was just sitting at her desk, reviewing past security briefings and also the security guidelines and procedures outlined by corporate policy.

A thrilling start to her new job!

Today at the Devil's Nest, Tiny was, as far as Thor could tell, recreating Stonehenge out of shot glasses. That was fine by Thor, as Tiny would also be the one sweeping up all of the broken glass when this inevitably went awry.

Meanwhile, behind the bar, Thor was consulting the mixology book Don had gotten him as he experimented with the recipes in his ongoing quest to branch out beyond 'five kinds of martini.'

Hopefully he wouldn't need any shot glasses any time soon.

The Devil's Nest is open!

Since it was the first Thursday of the month Liz was spending the first part of the morning making sure that the documents and spreadsheets were set up to go for the month so that she could work on them as needed and once that was all set up, she settled in to start going through the latest emails that she needed to respond to, so far there didn’t seem to be that many emails to answer but Liz was fully expecting that to change as the morning went on based on previous weeks.
